6 Years now still going strong

Phil P., Newegg
8 August 2015
  • Summary: Will be getting another ASUS board.
  • Pros: Made a build with this for cutting edge back in 2009 and it hasn't given me a single day of problems. I've even had a RAID fail (drive) and rebuild with no trouble. Thing is great. I ripped off the top of a SATA connector year ago but that was my fault.
  • Cons: No USB 3

Still Running

Christopher D., Newegg
21 July 2015
  • Summary: I find myself wondering if the 2011v3 slots will go the same way as this 1366 in that it has a small number of consumer CPUs and then gets used for servers after that. With the next chips on their way this year who knows.
  • Pros: It is hard to believe I have been running this board since 2009, it is still a good gaming rig. I just ordered a new GTX960 to give me a little bit more gaming power.
  • Cons: Only con are that it doesn't have 6gb SATA

Still Going

Kevin W., Newegg
22 March 2015
  • Summary: I've had this in a gaming rig for 6 years now!! Yes 6 years, wow, it's been a great MB and hasn't' missed a beat. My HD recently crashed, so I'm on newegg shopping for a new one and thought I see when I last built a rig. I did not realize it had been that long.
  • Pros: Does what it was meant to do
  • Cons: None

2008 and beyond

Scott H., Newegg
21 January 2015
  • Summary: I hope my next experience is just as good as all the others!
  • Pros: This board has lasted the test of time. Such an excellent board. Durability is important for every, and all, electronics. I've been running 6gb ram in this board and playing demanding games and they rarely ever lag (except SC2 with heavy unit load). Fantastic work Asus, buying the Hero VII this w...

Still Running 5 Years Later

Peter M., Newegg
26 June 2014
  • Summary: I built two machines with these boards in October 2009. Both are still running without issue, and have been turned on nearly 24x7 that entire time. ASUS puts together a quality, reliable product and that's why they are my go-to standard for all new builds.
  • Pros: Great set of connectors, triple-channel, and the ability to run 2 PCIx cards at x16. Overall this board was a great value for cost and with a decent layout to boot.
  • Cons: The placement of the PCIx slots is a bit inconvenient in my case, and this board really shows its age these days without USB 3.0, but you really don't notice those things on a daily basis.

Kwun C., Newegg
19 November 2013
  • Summary: i am kinda stuck now that i have to get another LGA1366 motherboard or throw away my i7 920 and upgrade both my motherboard and cpu since LGA 1366 are so outdated now... everything is LGA 1155/1150 with SATA 6....
  • Pros: never would have thought asus product would fail so soon.
  • Cons: i had 6 memory ram with 2gb each for full 6 slots, 4 slots aren't working now. spent over $200 thinking i could use this for few years. i would never buy asus motherboard again....so unreliable....
