Summary: It's been running a OC e6600 for the last seven years. Do I need to say more? If you can happen to find this motherboard to go with a old c2d/c2q don't hesitate. Just buy it.
Pros: This obviously is no longer my main motherboard anymore. It's sitting in my old gaming rig from 2007 that I still have running that I use just as a file server. I have a E6600 OC to 3.2ghz that has been running stable since 2007.
Summary: I set this rig up in 2007, with the eVGA 8800gtx, E6600 C2D Conroe, Corsair CMPSU-620HX 620W, all in an Antec 900 case. Ended up giving to my boyfriend when I built my new rig 2 years ago. Still ran great up till last month when the GPU finally died.
Pros: Lasted the test of time, only now replacing because games are super struggling haha. Overclocked like a beast Rock solid reliability.
Cons: Sad to see it finally set sail to the grey havens with the rest of the fellowship :(
Summary: This board just rocks, unless it dies suddenly for mystical reasons anytime soon, I'll remain very pleased with it.
Pros: Very nice board. Easy install, nice manual, overly-overclocking-friendly!! (if your are into that) This board runs very cool. But the best thing for me, was that it delevers the x16 to both video cards, and has a third slot at x8 for a physics card. Asus did very well making a board for a serious...
Summary: I did have some difficulty with the BIOS update. Supposedly automated but struggled with Vista 64. It was set up for a floppy and I had to move on to the USB flash and update in the CMOS. Not sure if it was VISTA or not but getting all set up with 8 GB ram took some toying around.
Pros: This board is great. Laid out well, good connections for fans, USB and 1334 connections. Really good cables come with this board and I didn't have any conflicts or issues. ASUS P5N32-E SLI Plus,Q6600, 8GB Patriot Ram, ASUS 8600GT Silent, SATA 500 GB.
Cons: ASUS website is a bit slow and not the easiest to navigate for updating the BIOS.
Summary: This was my first time building a computer. All worries i had about configuring the bios, loading drivers from a floppy, setting up raid ID's etc etc were non existant after plugging everything in.
Pros: after doing months of research , I decided upon this board because of the future-proofing features built into it as well as its wide availability of slots for additional cards.
Cons: The first one came dead. Smoke came off my motherboard when I attempted to power it up. Newegg was extremly professional and prompt in replacing the board and now my happy lil beast runs wonderfully
Summary: For my future builds I will stick with ASUS and and the P5N32-E. To get some more speed from our systems we have swapped from PATA Optical Drives to SATA and wow what a step up with this MOBO.
Pros: For our application this is one great MOBO. I love everything about it. From the 3 USB 2.0 connectors, 8 fan connectors to the 6 SATA connectors at a 90 which helps in keeping everything together and against the case frame creating a cleaner build. My MOBO runs around 26C and CPU around 28C at 22...
Summary: Fired up 1st time with new E6850 cpu 2 8600 gt's All in a Killer Cooler Master Cosmos case. My own little dream machine, cmae from new egg with most up to date bios =) New Egg Rocks
Pros: well thought out design. many overclocking options. runs cool, lots of sata connections. easy to build a pc with. Same as the ASUS Striker with out all the little extra useless bling.and costs less. lots of fan connections overclocks well
Summary: I built a new box with this MB, and my wife was so amused with my creation she wanted one. I built a second machine with this MB, no problems with either build. Worked right out of the box. I have never had issues with ASUS MB's.
Pros: Stable 650I chipset. True 16x16 SLI. Included software for stepping the CPU, and other tweaks, good for newbies to adjust settings with that do not feel comfortable playing with bios settings. Plenty of goodies in the retail box, including all the SATA cables you should need, sound card and more!
Cons: Sound card does not utilize the sub-woofer on my 2.1 speakers. I don't blame the card though, I blame the drivers.
Summary: need to buy new sound card, need to buy more powerful fans for case. As a side note, those that were reporting NO POST issues, and no display were probably using a weak power supply, as that was the issue I initially had, and the first board was tested fine by the store I bought it from.
Pros: Overall, a very good Mobo. I bought two at a local store, had to return because thought was faulty, then bought a more powerful power supply, turns out it just likes more amperage. great features, likes my 2 gigs of kingston hyperX ram, has 10 USB ports total, aplications that came with it work w...
Cons: Expect to replace the sound card that came with the board if using xp and games. drivers actually prevented Gears of war to startup. ended up removing sound application from startup list as it prevented me from uninstalling. Board does run relatively hot 37C under little load. good power supply i...
