List All 10 PricesThe P5N-T Deluxe is an Asus motherboard that is compatible with Intel’s Core 2 Quad/Extreme/Duo processors and Pentium Extreme/D/4 processors. It also supports the next generation 45nm CPUs from Intel.
The Asus P5N-T Deluxe is based on the Nvidia nForce 780i SLI (Scalable Link Interface) chipset. This advanced chipset features, among others, 3-Way SLI technology. With 3-Way SLI capability, the user can connect 3 GPUs (Graphics Processing Unit) to the P5N-T Deluxe for exceptional graphics performance.
In addition, the P5N-T Deluxe comes with the Nvidia Enthusiast System Architecture (ESA). ESA allows the user to monitor, control and fine-tune their system’s cooling, electrical and other operating elements.
This Asus motherboard also features the Precision Tweaker 2 overclocking utility. With Precision Tweaker 2, the user can adjust northbridge, southbridge, Hyper Transport and the DRAM voltages in small 0.02v increments. It also offers Asus’ O.C. Profile for convenient managements of multiple BIOS settings. Other BIOS management features include CrashFree BIOS 2 and EZ Flash 2. The former gives the user an auto-recovery function for a corrupted BIOS through the included support CD. The latter makes updating the BIOS possible via a USB flash disk without having to boot into the operating system.
For cooling the system, the motherboard features a sophisticated heat pipe design and the Stack Cool 2 fanless design. In addition, the Q-Fan 2 feature helps with cooling and keeping the system energy efficient. Other energy efficiency features include the Asus EPU (Energy Processing Unit) and AI Gear 3.
Morry's Thoughts: From outward appearances, the ASUS P5N-T Deluxe board seems to be a well designed solution keeping in line with ASUS’ long tradition of quality products. The board is well designed, using quality solid-state capacitors and a well thought out board layout. The heat-pipe, while passively cooled, is well routed so as not to inhibit device placement in the board. However, the board itself is only moderately stable at best. The PC component scene over the past year was mostly dominated with Intel news, Intel processors, Intel chipsets and Intel technology. However, if you would have remembered back in 2006, the Intel desktop scene was shared with NVIDIA. The nForce 680i SLI chipset was perhaps the most technology-packed core logic chipset to hit the market for the Intel platform. The nForce 680i SLI brought firsts in dual full speed x16 graphics lanes, built-in Gigabit network teaming/pa... Read more
