  1. Asus P5K Pro

Given the very favourable BIOS and eight phases of CPU power regulation we expected some pretty awesome results, however there was "only" a 4-pin CPU 12V power socket, rather than an 8-pin. Perhaps quad core overclocking wouldn't be as favourable as we expected? We turned out to be pretty much on the money, although we still achieved some excellent results. Firstly our QX9650 would post at 492MHz FSB stable (6x multiplier) on 1.4V Vcore, a maxed out FSB Termination,... Read more

  2. ASUS P5K PRO Intel P35 Green ATX Motherboard

ASUS emphasizes the green features found on the P5K PRO in order to set it apart from the rather crowded Intel P35 based motherboard market. While the energy saving design is interesting and useful, what may be lost on some users is that your system won't lack power by being energy efficient. The P5K PRO proved it could perform as well as another Intel P35 based board during testing, but when the system wasn't cranking away in games or benchmarks it could reduce energ... Read more

This is a very nice DDR2 board, it has performed very stable for us and it also overclocks very well even under heavy loads and temperatures which has suprised me. I believe Asus has done it again, even though this is not the latest board with DDR3 etc this is still a board to consider. You get alot of features and performance for a small amount of money with todays low DDR2 prices. As I said earlier this board overclocks very well, it has all the possibilities to go ... Read more

  4. ASUS P5K Pro motherboard review

For anybody who has recently found themselves torn between picking up an Intel P35 or X38-based motherboard for their next system upgrade, our testing here has certainly answered one pertinent question - In everyday circumstances, there really is no discernible performance difference between a decent DDR2-sporting P35 part and a similar X38 motherboard. Thus, if you aren't worried about the extra bells and whistles offered by X38 (PCI Express 2.0 and the like) and hav... Read more
