Summary: This motherboard has made me an ASUS fan.
Pros: I have one of these in an Alienware desktop from 2004 and it still works great along with the CT-479 socket adapter and a Pentium M. Windows 10 installed all the drivers automatically and it runs as smoothly as the day I got it with XP. With SATA and ECC memory support, this system is still quite...
Cons: Sadly, AGP graphics do not have the support that they did in 2004 and although I was able to force Windows 10 to use the Vista driver for my Radeon 9550, there are no longer any upgrades available that have official support. PCI options exist but are overpriced and very limited, so a system based...
Summary: I have finally built up my home-brew kluge-box to just where I want it. This is my first ASUS mobo, purchased especially for my new P4 3.4E cpu and it is really great. I did install an aeroCool High Tower cooler with TWO fans to keep this beast cool.
Summary: The last PC I built from scratch was based on an 8080 chip - so it's been a while and I was nervous. This motherboard was unbelievably simple to install, thanks to an elegant design and great instructions.
Summary: I've had this motherboard for at least 2 years now, I've never had any problems with it. It was actually my dad's at first, he had it for almost 3 or so years. That would make this one 5 years old. It's fast, reliable, and fits in cases great... unlike others that make the case crowded.
Summary: I didn't really need this kind of extravagance but this thing is definitely sweet. Great package, plenty of goodies in hermetic plastic bags to go with the board which itself is loaded with a plethora of gizmos, jumpers, sockets, and ports I'll only possibly be able to fully utilize.
Summary: As usual, Asus delivers a solid motherboard. Added a P4 3.2ghz Prescott and some Kingston DDR400 Valueram as well as a SATA150 drive. Everything installed smooth and works great. Even my giant Zalman CPU heatsink/fan fit with no trouble at all.
Summary: Very nice board, for 478 pin I'd say that it's the best one available. I had a little bit of difficulty with it at first however due to the memory I installed (Corsair XMS) I found that setting the timing manually though that it really kicks and I get the most out of the system.
Summary: I love this mobo. I used it to build my first system and it worked great. For anyone concerned about clearance with a Zalman 7700 fan, don't worry. It fits with a couple centimeters to spare. Just make to sure to update your BIOS from the ASUS website when you get a chance.
