  • Summary: I have had myriad issues with this motherboard (Two RAM ports do not function, 3.5mm audio jack is completely busted) that occurred within three weeks of my purchase. However, I can't give it a worse score than this since this was mixed in with numerous problems I had with the computer technician...

Very happy with this ASUS board

D. Fite, Amazon
1 May 2015
  • Summary: Very happy with this ASUS board. It's getting a bit aged now with LGA2011v3 coming out but meh it holds up well with an i7 4770K or 4790K (my build here http://pcpartpicker.com/b/v6KZxr). I like the BIOS they paired with this.

Great motherboard with plenty of options

MorningsideMims, Amazon
27 April 2015
  • Summary: Paired this with a 4790K and a GTX 980 SC. Great motherboard with plenty of options, but kept getting blue screens. Found out that my mobo shipped with extremely old BIOS firmware. Flashed new version and all was fine, but have to take a star off for it.

Used In My First Gaming Rig! Perfect for a newbie, but had trouble with CPU Heatsink fan

Luke, Amazon
4 April 2015
  • Summary: Used in my first computer build ever, very user friendly! The DIY Manual is helpful, and the motherboard itself is well-labeled. No problems installing into a Corsair 500r case. I actually managed to plug all my fans, LED, power, reset, etc. in correctly on the first try.

Horrible Support Experience - Find another Brand

IT Guy, Amazon
3 April 2015
  • Summary: I purchased this motherboard in 2014 and used it in a gaming building with the Intel Core i7 4770 (overclocked at 4.0 GHz at stable temps), GTX780, 16 GB RAM, Corsair H110i cooler, and Corsair H450d. Computer worked great, so why the low review? Because of their horrible support.

  • Summary: EXCELLENT Mobo. I can't believe how easy they made everything! I was expecting all the instructions to be with the various components, and some were, but this little sucker had instructions for EVERYTHING! First time builder, and I am very happy with this purchase.

A little confusing

Paul Carlisle, Amazon
27 February 2015
  • Summary: During my experience plugging in all the cords I needed, I found out that since my case fan has a 3 pin header, and all the fan headers on the motherboard has 4 pin headers, I have no case fan installed. So far, it has been fine.

  • Excerpt: Asus Maximus ROG Series...... that pretty much sums it up. Asus motherboards are awesome. ROG Series are top of the line for overclocking and gaming. This is the VI series so it's a z87 chipset. A more recent version of this motherboard has been released, the Asus Hero VII which is z97.
