Summary: As the other reviews say this is a Great board, I'm using it "stock" no over clocking. It started right up with the system I put together. One word of CAUTION !!!!! (and why I didn't give it 5 Stars ) I am using Windows 8 updated to 8.1. according to Asus this board is 8.1 ready, but, if you install the Ai suite software that comes with the board you may find yourself unable to use your machine.
Summary: I've been holding off on reviewing this motherboard because the first one I received had a grounding issue that killed the integrated sound card and I wanted to make sure I gave the replacement a proper run through. First off, Amazon's cross-shipping process, fantastic. They sent me a replacement, free of charge and I had ample time to test the replacement before returning the original. If you build computers often I'm sure you can appreciate that courtesy.
Summary: I put my first system together using the ASUS Maximus VI Gene mobo, the Intel i7-4770k, 16GB(2x8) Corsair Vengence 1600Mhz memory, Seasonic 850w PS and the Silverstone Tek mid-tower case. It worked the first time I turned it and performs as advertised.
Summary: With so many great ATX motherboards being launched recently for Z87 chipset, it's easy to forget mATX boards like the Maximus VI Gene that is targeted at both overclockers and gamers. Like its predecessor, the Asus Z87 Maximus VI Gene is truly a fantastic board that has the capability of putting other higher end boards to shame.
Summary: This is a great motherboard and is packed with many features in the UEFI/BIOS. I am currently using a 4670k overclocked at 4.2ghz(1.185v manual). This motherboard overall feels like a solid product to me. I love m-atx, it's small, but packs the same punch as a standard atx motherboard. I've been using this motherboard for about a month now inside a Corsair 350D with an H100i, no issues!
Summary: I'm running a Core i7 3.5GHz, 32GB RAM, and a pair Gforce Titans w/ SLI on this board. Games look amazing and the performance of Blender 3D is unreal with the 2 Titan cards. It all works great. Not sure what you'd want in a motherboard and you really can't go wrong with Asus.
Summary: It’s a high end matx board. It works very well. Easy to work with when overclocking haswell (considering those cpus are hard to overclock past 4.3 ghz). Everything was running perfectly at 1rst boot. Love the Q-CODE Feature. Excellent quality from asus as usual.
Pros: -Lots of features, -Supreme FX chip for Audio, -Intel Lan, -Nice layout, -6 intel SATA 6gb ports, -Lots of usb 3.0 ports, -Bios, oOverclocking features and customization, oEasy to use, -AI suite iii : excellent software, very reliable, -Nice looking board, -Was able to overclock i5 4670k to 4.4 ghz with vcore at 1.31v stable (aida64 2hrs and some games), oMy Haswell i5 cpu needed lots of voltage for stability :(
