Summary: If you like to overclock, and you are a real gaming enthusiasts, this is the board for you. I am using a i7 2700k sandy bridge stock at 3.8 ghz, but jacked up to 5.2 gHz. With the right cpu cooling I think I can get 5.7 out of it.
Summary: I've had the Maximus IV Extreme for a little over a year now and I'm very pleased with it does everything I need it to do and is great for gaming and overclocking I had a scare recently when loading in a bios update it didn't read correctly and thankfully when there is a corrupt or invalid bios present it doesn't just fizzle and die it goes into bios update screen so you can select a bios to use (From USB, HDD, etc) and was able to reload the bios and get it working with...
Summary: Mainboard excellent, easy to administer, both for amateurs and advanced users in overclocking, safe and reliable under high load, large internal and external connectivity, low noise and excellent Self-cooling. I recommend it, very good cost-benefit ratio.
Summary: Well A. Madrigal said it best so no point in adding my 2 cents My setup (Listmania): [...] Software makes it really easy, I just clicked auto mode and it automatically OCed my PC. Great thing is if anything is astray you can reset back to factory settings. Board looks nice too I like all the ROG black and red stuff. Keep in mind this is a XL-ATX board, your going to have to make sure your PC case can fit it!
Summary: Awesome board but if you're going to stick to an i5-2500K then don't go beyond BIOS 2302. This board easily overclocks my i5-2500K to 4.6ghz offset (-.030) and even 4.8ghz! the only reason I don't stay at 4.8ghz and even attempt higher clock speeds is because I only have an H50 cooler. 4.8ghz is stable with the H50 but the temps at full load are at 85c-90c. I can't wait till I upgrade my cooling system! Definitely Recommend this product.
