Came DOA, Great customer service.

Das Zwerg, Amazon
31 December 2014
  • Summary: I hear it's great. Mine was DOA, and I could not return it in time, which is my fault. I would totally buy it again though because I've built systems with this mobo before.

Nice board with some defects.

kenny, Amazon
9 May 2013
  • Summary: The board itself has a really nice look and lots of overclocking features however I did run into a few problems with it. With customization and all those options for the overclocking, there are also a lot of drivers that must be installed properly as well.

Decent Board... if it works

Nathon F., Newegg
1 November 2012
  • Summary: I'm the head of IT for a large company. So, I deal with warranty claims on a regular basis. This has been, by far, my worst warranty experience. I'm very disappointed in Asus. Gigabyte actually stands by their products and is quick about RMA's with free overnight shipping (if you ask nicely).
  • Pros: The board has a few pros. - Looks nice - Great bios - Easy CPU overclocking
  • Cons: Asus has gone downhill. I've used them for the past 20 years, almost exclusively. If they make a product, this is the brand I've gone with for that product. However, this motherboard has shaken my faith in this company. The first one I got wouldn't even post. It didn't detect the processor (brand...

Good, until burned out

Matthew G., Newegg
27 March 2012
  • Summary: This is a solid board, and only got 3 stars because of the burnout, and the poor Asus customer support. As long as you don't install the utilities that come with the board, you should have a great system
  • Pros: Very good aesthetic appeal, good board with lots of power, great ability for adding peripherals, highly recommend for use with SLI or Crossfire
  • Cons: After being adventurous, I decided to install the utilities that came with the motherboard (which I NEVER do). After installing them, my computer BSOD'ed 4 times in a row, and then the board fried the SATA 6gb/s ports, the audio ports, and both ethernet. I thought it was a driver issue, since my ...

Home, Newegg

  • Pros: Overclocks well
  • Cons: USB 3.0 slots on the back of the PC died after 3 months

CHRISTOPHER V., Newegg
8 March 2012
  • Summary: extemely mad I didnt realize this board only has 2.0 my fault not newegg.
  • Pros: looks boss, led in top right to show if running properly but
  • Cons: I have not started my system up (my first build) because I tried to install a amd 7770 it didnt work because this board is limited too 2.0 now I have to live with the fact that the max single gpu I can get is a 580 :( which is bad but will probably be terrible in time

No Support

Bruce F., Newegg
29 February 2012
  • Summary: I have used 1/2 dozen ASUS boards over the last five years and they have been perfect in every aspect. This particular board has the potential, in my opinion, to be the best on the market.
  • Pros: I have been building my own PCs for 25 years and using ASUS motherboards exclusively for the last 5. Every board I have owned has been exactly as promoted by ASUS. This MoBo has taken the ASUS MoBo to new heights in terms of functionality, dependability, and technology. On the other hand as the q...
  • Cons: If you are looking for the best motherboards for the price, I don't think you can do better; just don't expect to hear back from ASUS support. I cannot get my GPUs to function in Crossfire mode, and their software, beyond excellent in the past, will not load.

Great While It Lasted

Anthony A., Newegg
20 September 2011
  • Summary: Really a bummer since I rely (relied) on that board/computer for a lot of things.
  • Pros: Was everything it advertised until it quit working.
  • Cons: Quit working after around 6 months, board powers on, resets itself after a few seconds for some reason, but never posts, and no amount of clearing cmos, bios, general fiddling, etc will fix it. Just to add icing to the cake, all the fancy things added to the board to help you tell where a problem...

2 DEFECTIVE MOBOS

Wesam H., Newegg
21 May 2011
  • Summary: great product and concept, however, too many defects.
  • Pros: very advanced features, high tech specs.
  • Cons: had to RMA 2 motherboards in a row, then finally got tired and settled for a diffferent motherboard. First motherboard wouldnt detect the RAM, (called ASUS and they said it was defective), second motherboard short circuited when i attempted to turn it on.

Niceness

Anonymous, Newegg
10 May 2011
  • Summary: Wish I could give it a better rating, but the issue with my RAM just makes me sad and angry. I forgot to grab the latest drivers and BIOS update before installing Win 7. Can anyone say BSOD.
  • Pros: Excellent mobo (aside from the XMP problem). This thing runs like greased lightning.
  • Cons: Cant get the XMP working with my low-latency RAM. I set the timings and voltage correctly, but it won't post. In my opinion, that deducts 2 eggs from my overall rating. The drivers that came with the mobo are terrible, bug laden, garbage. I suggest getting the latest from ASUS. Also, grab the lat...
