Summary: Looks good, sounds good, but the products RAM slots are defective right out of the box and there are numerous blogs n reviews with the same issue along with other issues like bent pins. The product is made in China so i'm thinking maybe thats why its defective. I have contacted Asus for support to be told to buy new RAM which I did 3 times so now i'm out more money and all 3 RAM companies I called all told me and email confirmed, there products work with the board.
Excerpt: I recently upgraded from the 775 platform and have been bewildered with excitement at the ease of overclocking with this board. It has so many tweaks you can use to get temps and power usage down whilst maintaining a steady OC. I didn't have the issues some have had hence the bias opinion. THis SB motherboard was well worth the upgrade. THe new chips dont hurt either.
Excerpt: This board has been a terrible mistake since day one. After coming from a consistent EVGA board I decided to try out the "competition" and have been thoroughly dissatisfied. I can and have fixed most of the problems and most people on this site will be able to do so as well I would hope but for someone with out much knowledge this is not the board for them.
Excerpt: After using this board for about a week now, having good luck running a dog of a 2600k at 4.8ghz. Easy to use, plus the voltage ports for a multimeter are great. The heat sink is of good quality and keeps nice and frosty.
Summary: Unfortunately I had to get a replacement as the item I got was an "ASUS P8P67 Deluxe Intel P67 (REV B3) Socket 1155 DDR3 PCI-Express Motherboard ". The replacement that I got was the same incorrect item as well. As the dispatch time is 1-2months be aware that you are going to get a different item and that this issue is being investigated. I was also advised that I can only get a refund and that this is probably a bigger issue that will be investigated.
Summary: Hello, I didnt buy my asus maximus IV extreme on Amazon so this review is in no way a reflexion of amazon but of the board itself and Asus. Purchased in the end of July 2011 from pixmania.de After 10 months one day on start up there was a smell of burning and board refused to boot up even though it was still powered and lit up. Had to return the board directly to the shop as Asus doesnt handle thier own warranty claims.
