Worst Purchase

Edward W., Newegg
4 October 2012
  • Pros: None
  • Cons: The product was DOA. The memory slots were unable to read my DDR3 RAM. I tried with a variety of sticks and got the same error. When I tried to return it (Making sure not to damage it) Newegg claimed I damaged the CPU pins. This is probably my only review and warning since I am no longer going to...

additional info don't buy

  • Summary: be nice if asus would offer us all new updated borads without any problems needing to side line a computer for close to a month while they play games and try to say NO PROBLEM FOUND!
  • Pros: fast good looking .
  • Cons: asus has a major problem with the top 6 usb 3.0 ports looseing power the the ports, windows deactivates those ports when a problem is found on boot up. right now i have to operate usb's like the key board and mouse from the 2.0 add on plugs since they don't get the needed voltage . i have reinsta...

  • Summary: think better
  • Pros: easy set up
  • Cons: this board has failed 2 times since jan 2012. each time the top 4 usb 3.0 ports all failed by looseing power to the key board, mouse and next lower row of ports asus now wants me to side line my main work computer by mailing them the board to be tested, seems their warrenty only allows 1 fast ship...

do not buy

Umar K., Newegg
22 August 2012
  • Summary: Asus sucks at customer support; Newegg is not much better.
  • Pros: Looks great. Good packaging...promising specs & excellent features.
  • Cons: DOA. No help from Newegg and no help from ASUS. I'm extremely dissatisfied with both companies. It is the first time I've had any problems with a home build; usually, things work right away. I will now look for a non-Asus board to replace this $264 mistake.

User Review

Trevor W., Newegg
15 August 2012
  • Summary: Probably not going to buy another Asus product, and despite previously being a satisfied customer, I probably won't order from Newegg again.
  • Pros: Nothing to enter here.
  • Cons: Item was DOA. Board would not POST. CPU contacts were intact. When I RMA'd the board, Newegg returned it to me saying it was damaged. When I received it back, I found a bent pin on the CPU socket. Newegg will not process this. ASUS wants to charge $120 to fix it.

ASUS - No More

Gerald J., Newegg
30 July 2012
  • Summary: I will not be ordering Motherboards or much else from on line any time soon. Father-in-law had a lighting strike at home lost CPU, Router, TV just after this RMA, purchased box CPU, Router & TV from BX. I'm done with on line shopping for electronics.
  • Pros: Great looking board, excellent packaging and presentation thought it would be amazing! Motherboard included very clear and well written directions, if that is needed. The reviews on NewEgg were good as well as several other sites. The price was in line with similar type boards.
  • Cons: I unpacked board only to discover a bent pin that you could barely see with the naked eye. I really couldn't tell until we took pictures under light. This was very disappointing because we needed the computer ASAP. Also NewEgg would not warranty the board, now trying to contact ASUS.

Very poor support.

Justin B., Newegg
26 July 2012
  • Summary: I'll be REALLY ticked off if I have to buy a new board. I do NOT feel like re-installing Windows, all my drivers and programs, and transferring over all of my files. If ASUS doesn't sort this out soon, they'll lose a customer. One who usually recommends ASUS over other brands, at that.
  • Pros: I wrote a review, before, when it works, it works GREAT. Very good build quality, lots of features.
  • Cons: This board died recently. Whatever, no big deal, right? Wrong. I've called ASUS, with the same RMA number/case four times. All four times I was told I would receive an e-mail address with shipping information and a pre-paid shipping label. It's been over a week I've been without the computer work...

RMA Shuffle!

Steven S., Newegg
4 July 2012
  • Summary: Packaging: The packaging was minimal by asus. It consisted of 2 squares of 1" bubble bubble wrap and a hand full of packaging peanuts. The Replacement Board: The board itself really made me worry right off the bat. It was the wrong revision. Mine is a Rev 3.00 and they sent me a Rev 1.02 board.
  • Pros: Cool packaging Probably awesome if you can get a working board... Do plenty of reading before you buy this...
  • Cons: Rev 3.00 board Died after 1 month of use. Throughout the whole process I have taken pictures and video to support my findings. Purchased the board on 05/10/12, received everything a few days later and booted up my system and was happy. After about a month of stable operation, I powered my system ...
