Bad

Aleshia K., Newegg
18 February 2013
  • Pros: It was good when it work.
  • Cons: The board began to lose it's USB 3.0 and immediately started to messed up. Then the PCI-E lanes went full ret'rd and gave out. I switch to all 4 lanes to no avail! This is definitely not top of the line at all. I pay the premium price to get low standard card. POST LED went brain dead as well. No...

Worst ASUS Motherboard I've Ever Used!

Jeremy F., Newegg
10 August 2012
  • Summary: Opened RMA #USPT270611‏ on 7/05/12. I was told to ship the board to ASUS. Removing the videocards from the PCI-E slots, the lock on the 2nd slot wouldn't come undone. Put a bit of force down on the lock pin, & it mashed against the mobo pcb, sliding the plastic of the slot off.
  • Pros: So Far NONE. ZERO. It's a cool looking board, but functionally it's junk. I've been working with ASUS motherboards & videocards for about 10 years, and always loved their products. Loyal to their company up until I bought this overpriced hunk of junk. ASUS Service No=1933306; Rma No=USPT270611‏
  • Cons: Everything about the board, including the experience with ASUS cust support. (Service No=1933306; Rma No=USPT270611‏) I purchased this board from Newegg in August of last year. Didn't finish ordering parts for a new build until January this year. Put the system together, & right off the bat the U...

Ripped off

Frank K., Newegg
8 August 2012
  • Summary: I trusted that you received the deffective motherboard, as I was tracking it. I didn't save my tracking information after it was received. Someone loses it, and you won't do anything for me until I find the tracking information.
  • Pros: NOT ONE
  • Cons: Looks great! Spent more for this board than any other in my life. Cons: ASP? Then why did asus drop the ball on reserving my replacement board without my credit information? This is my second doa board. I threw in an extra hundred bux to move up a notch in hopes of avoiding it again. That didn't ...

User Review

Frank K., Newegg
30 July 2012
  • Summary: RMA# is X-USPT260933
  • Pros: Looks great! Spent more for this board than any other in my life.
  • Cons: ASP? Then why did asus drop the ball on reserving my replacement board without my credit information? This is my second doa board. I threw in an extra hundred bux to move up a notch in hopes of avoiding it again. That didn't work out either. Asus had me test it with'"can you run this?", As to see...

VERY POOR BIOS UPDATES

RYAN B., Newegg
29 July 2012
  • Summary: insert boot media in select boot device." Essentially... Pretend that 2 of the 4 Sata 6G ports are useless, and that you will have nightmares if you decide to attempt a RAID array on the Marvell chipset.
  • Pros: Overclocks well, lot of options. Has the ability to have 2 completely separate BIOS's, which allows you to switch to one if another one fails for some reason (which I will go into later), but it doesn't allow you to downgrade (atleast it didn't let me go from version 1004 to a lower one). AI Char...
  • Cons: Expecting to update the bios to use Ivy bridge? Good luck. I've lost 2 seperate RAID arrays. The ones on the native Intel chipset, it would just set one of the SSD into a non-member of the RAID array. The only way to set it to RAID? Delete the entire RAID array and start from scratch. Have a part...

MB from Hell

James G., Newegg
27 July 2012
  • Summary: I have been a disciple of ASUS for year having built more than two dozen systems with minor or no problems at all. This MB has given me nothing but problems. First of all you cannot start up the board with the Intel I7-3770K without flashing the BIOS with an upgrade from the ASUS site.
  • Pros: USB 3.0, SATA III, Intel RAID
  • Cons: Poor support from ASUS. Perhaps not yet compatible with Intel Ivy Bridge. Need to flash BIOS before it will even startup.

Absolute Worst Tech. Support ever spoken too

Kenneth R., Newegg
9 June 2012
  • Summary: Will never buy products from these people again.
  • Pros: Never dealt with such terrible tech. support in all of my life. First lady I spoke to didn't even offer help told me to do it myself through directions she would send through email. Told her I preferred verbal communication then insisted on RMA instead of even offering help. 2nd Time I called a g...
  • Cons: 3rd time calling along the same lines as above this one told me to download the manual and do it myself. What's the point in tech support if they aren't actually going to help you technically instead tell you to use the manual???

rma

Frank K., Newegg
7 June 2012
  • Pros: Service does happen, too bad one has to get nasty first.
  • Cons: Your tech Cory and I ruled out everything right down to a defective pci bus. The problem was I called back with the serial # and I first got someone that can't speak english! Next, I got someone wanting to go through it all over again, and then want's my credit card # before we go any further. Ya...

NEVER AGAIN

Frank K., Newegg
4 June 2012
  • Summary: Asus sucks
  • Pros: I payed big bucks for a rollback in gaming. Republic of gamers? I can't play any game I was playing with my 3 first generation core family builds. This board might be greater than the previous I have, but the support to find out is nill! This is my second asus board and both are nothing but a los...
  • Cons: I actually spent nearly 400 to avoid the 300 dollar loss I had with my first experience with asus. Asus doesn't get a third try from me
