The Asus Maximus Formula also includes a copy of the 3D first person shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and the benchmarking software 3DMark 06 Advanced Edition.
With Maximus Formula CrossFire technology, the user can have two video cards working in tandem for improved graphics. And, using the Catalyst Control Center, each change in the settings/configuration can be previewed in real time.
The Maximus Formula offers the overclocker a number of options for fine-tuning the system. The Extreme Tweaker application gives the user full control over system settings. The board also comes with convenient overclocking options such as CPU Level Up and AI NOS dynamic overclocking. To help keep the system running smooth and stable, Asus has included COP EX, Loadline Calibration and Voltiminder LED features. COP EX monitors chipset voltages and watches out for overheating while Loadline Calibration ensures that the CPU gets stable voltages. Voltiminder, meanwhile, is an external LCD display that shows the voltage status of the CPU, memory and chipsets. Other key features are Asus’ EPU and AI Gear, which work in tandem to keep the system energy efficient.
Keeping the system as cool and as quiet as possible are Asus’ Stack Cool 2 fan-less design and Pin-Fin Thermal Module system.
The Asus O.C. Profile, EZ Flash 2 and C.P.R.(CPU Parameter Recall) features are also present to make managing the BIOS more convenient.

On both boards, we threw in an E6750 G0 and it went right over 500MHz FSB easily without the need for coaxing, but then our CPU decided to call it a day at just 10MHz more than that. Our quad-core overclocking endeavours also delivered 500MHz FSB speeds with relative ease, but we now needed to use a few "red"... Read more
