Emmanuel K Harrison, Amazon

  • Summary: Incredible motherboard. I bought it back in 2013 and I have enjoyed it thus far. However, I am looking to upgrade in a few months. This motherboard is perfect for a gamer. Just a tiny..

Decent M/B with some irritations

Erik W., Newegg
7 October 2015
  • Summary: If you want max graphics performance AND USB3.0, you may want to look elsewhere. Otherwise pretty solid so far.
  • Pros: I bought this M/B as the starting point for a new Windows 10 PC with an 8 core AMD proc, 8GB RAM, high speed grachics card and solid state hard drive. Overall I am satisfied. My new PC is lightning fast and I've had no glitchy issues. Windows 10 installed just fine, including all drivers. I did g...
  • Cons: Unfortunate location of the USB 3.0 header gets in the way of long cards installed in the PCIE x16 slot. If you want to install a very long graphics card, you may be stuck using the 4x PCIE slot. I had to (or not use USB 3.0). Only 1 PS/2 port. If you are going to bother with it at all, why not i...

Good General Purpose Motherboard

Forest City Prof, Amazon
24 September 2015
  • Summary: About a year ago I purchased the Asus M5A99x Evo R2.0 Motherboard, and over that time I learned that this is a very good standard motherboard for a lot of uses. This motherboard is designed to be a mid-range product, and is not designed to be used in an enthusiast level computer.

Works as it should.

Karleen Turchin, Amazon
30 June 2015
  • Summary: Board does everything I need I use mainly for photography photoshop cs5 and lightroom. My only complaint would be the cable between the board and hard drive. Where it connects at the board is at an angle so it makes it hard to connect multiple hard drives.

M5A99X offers great value against other brands

Kanak, Amazon
26 June 2015
  • Summary: Its a great board at a very reasonable price. It has all the connections you could ever want and a great manual to help the install. Throw in a big Pile Driver and some DDR3 and you can update the tired junk in your favorite case.

xsundeep, Amazon
3 March 2015
  • Summary: The motherboard itself works fine, but the rebate company that Asus uses is ridiculous. They denied my claim because they "couldn't read the included printed out invoice". They have scanned copies of all the documents that I sent. I see the invoice clearly enough.

So far so good

Calvin V., Newegg
14 January 2015
  • Pros: Great motherboard everything works well. GUI BIOS helps as well as providing some minor tools for overclocking things.
  • Cons: Problem I had was installing Evo 212 heatsink and fan, it took up the space over one of the ram slots which as of right now can't be used. Just the proximity of the RAM slot to cpu.

Second Time Around

Jack F., Newegg
29 November 2014
  • Summary: This is the second one I have owned. I trashed the other one while installing it in a new case. My fault.
  • Pros: Lots of SATA ports, runs cool. Easy to install. Runs like a champ. Love the Q connector which allows you to install the front panel leads on the header and then snap it place after you install the mobo. A real must for us ham fisted types.
  • Cons: Could use more USB 3.0 ports. Two is not enough.
