Summary: Bought ASUS board based on previous experience with high ASUS quality, and general reviews in 2011. No longer so sure ASUS is in the high-quality range (see various reviews), and would consider competitors more seriously in next motherboard purchase.
Pros: Lots of connections/ports including firewire, video on board. No startup problems, running windows XP after assembling an XP SP3 startup CD using Bart's PE builder.
Cons: No overclocking, standard MS Office/Internet use 24/7, nevertheless the board is rather unstable; it randomly seems to switch off CPU cores every 2-3 months. The internal video processor crashes unpredictably on heavy video use (leading to freezing of screen or total reset + MS 'serious problem' ...
Summary: I would given the MB 5 stars but the bad service and confusion at the service center makes me give it 3 stars. In addition the ASUS service line is a nightmare. The sound quality is and has been so bad for several years that it is nearly impossible to understand anyone.
Pros: Meets all requirements for my new build, good layout and features. USB3
Cons: Board worked great for about 18 months and then started to get BSOD. Send in for repair and got it back in 1 week. Worked for 4 weeks and BSOD again. Second try for service. Still no board after 10 days.
Summary: I like a lot of what this board offers, but the headaches are beginning to outweigh the benefits. I think I will be replacing it in the near future if the next set of drivers/BIOS do not remedy the latency and boot up issues.
Pros: This motherboard has a lot of features for the price. In general it has performed well except for the few issues addressed in the cons section.
Cons: The onboard NIC is causing some serious audio and video playback issues. I have tried every driver that I can find for it and the latency continues to increase from 50-100µs to 10,000+µs over the first hour it is turned on. The BIOS also hangs for several minutes on reboot for several of the BIOS...
Summary: This board has been giving me trouble from day one. I'm able to work around difficulties with the sloppy SATA numbering setup, but Windows will not install with this board; blue screen errors occur during the installation.
Pros: Lots of BIOS options for knoweldgeable users. Veteran overclockers could probably teach this board to do tricks.
Cons: This is a very poorly-designed board which was not able to meet my planned needs. The internal SATA ports were poorly labeled (1-3, 5, 6, with port 4 being the eSATA port on the back). BIOS options allow for ports 1-4 and/or 5-6 to be configured for RAID or IDE use, but only 3-5 internal drives c...
Cons: Frustrating placement of some of the ports. Asus has not released any bios updates for it. one of my SATA headers detached when I unplugged a cable from it (the headers are all loose) Slow POST. Have gotten a few failed boots from it.
Summary: I still love ASUS maybe it was just this board/parts combo that just couldn't find synergy.
Pros: Looks Nice, layout of connections is easy and straight forward. Decent price point.
Cons: Frequent crashes i have been dealing with video errors on this board for the past 9 months. I have gone through the gambit of solutions so after about 6 months i put all my hardware components on a different board and POOF no more problems.
Didn't get a chance to play with the motherboard. It arrived dead.

Summary: I bought this moatherboard, because i want to do raid 5 and also use the usb3. Unfortunately, after a week of waiting for it to come, it arrived dead. I only installed the CPU, CPU-FAN and RAM. Boot it up, see the logo for about a second, then heard 2 beeps.
