Summary: The motherboard functions really good. The only thing I didnt like on the layout was where the wifi antennas are, and how the ram is super close to the cpu. I use it for gaming. I paired it with my old nvidia 470, everyhitng is arranged in a way that it stays out of the way of a big video card.
Pros: My first review was a little biased. There is linux drivers on the cd, linux runs great on this board. As a matter of fact linux seems to run better than windows 7 in terms of drivers. (standby didn't work in windows 7 that well) Ubuntu varians shouldn't even need to install them off the cd since...
Cons: Doesnt use the usual dvi port for the onbloard. Still kind of raging about that. Still dont like the foxcon name on some of the parts. I have owned a foxcon board that self destructed itself because I booted linux on it once. (Not sure if it was a bios mistake or foxcon but it happened.) http://l...
Summary: I really wanted an AM3 or AM3+ mini ITX board with SATA III (6.0Gbps). My only requirement is a PCI-e slot for a better graphics card. I'm not disappointed though. My OCZ SSD (SATA III) gets a 7.7 on the windows experience test. So I shouldn't complain.
Pros: PCI-e on a mini ITX board. Feature rich. Compact size. Build in wifi with the ability to be a Wifi AP.
Cons: Summary: not SATA III, Software for WiFi AP is shotty at best. North bridge chipset/heat sink is very close to PCI-e slot so cooling may be an issue with Graphics card. More Detail: 1. I really hate the software for the wireless access point. I think they tried to simplify it for less tech savvy ...
Summary: Mine even came with a nice matching blue heatsink over the voltage regulators. This must be a new revision as in the pictures the regulators are bare. I've read that the regulators run hot as they are tightly packed in one corner of the motherboard and most ITX cases do not provide the best airflow.
Pros: This is a great ITX AMD motherboard. There aren't alot of options but ASUS comes through with a solid full featured board. USB 3.0, eSATA, Wireless N, GBe, HDMI, Bluetooth. Works with G.Skill G.SKILL 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 F3-12800CL9D-8GBSK
Cons: Ghastly terrible looking silly antennas.... worth an egg Northbridge and Southbridge under the same heatsink... things get toasty.
Summary: ok id like to set the record straight once and for all---YOU ABSOLUTLY 100% CAN USE 125WATT TDP CHIPS ON THIS BOARD!!! its a simple matter of keeping the board cool.. i have a phenom ii 975 3.6ghz processor on it and it runs great and all i did was add a mosfet cooler to a corsair H70 and drop it...
Pros: Tiny,,,powerful,,,pci-ex16 slot,,,very solid construction,,,wifi,,,full featured bios,,,tons of overclock options,,,even the i/o shield is higher quality than all ive used i the past
Cons: first the ones not worth docking an egg: 24pin power connects at the top (kind of a pain) only 3 sata+ 1 esata on back,,,no usb3 internal header and no sata3 6gig... what im docking the egg for is this boards heat issue... i had to add quite a bit of cooling to both the nb/sb chipset AND the mosf...
Summary: maximum 95W TDP. adding a 125W TDP processor. What gives? trying to burn up the M/B?
Pros: maximum 95W TDP
Cons: can't use the NEWEGG recomended processor that's 125 W TDP But NEWEGG says " Get the most from your ASUS M4A88T-I Deluxe with these extras!" AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 3.2GHz 6 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor HDT90ZFBGRBOX
Summary: Case: Antec ISK 300-150 CPU: Athlon II X2 244e HDD: WD Scorpio Blue 500GB ODD: Samsung Slim DVD RAM: Kingston 4GB DDR3
Pros: My goal was to put together a quiet, low power, low profile box to be used as an htpc as well as for experimentation. This mobo is everything I hoped for and more. It runs ubuntu 10.10 and XBMC without any issues and can view 720p streamed from youtube.
Cons: * Can't get wifi N working with a linksys e3000 and even G performance is sluggish. will probably have to get a $20 usb N adapter. Not a big deal. * Runs hot, so will have to investigate additional cooling options.
Summary: If the audio problem can be fixed it will make a great HTPC platform.
Pros: Great feature set for such a small board. I haven't even begun to use all of the capability. I use it with a Foxconn RS233 case and seems to work well. I bought it to use as an HTPC platform.
Cons: There seems to be an issue getting audio out of the HDMI port while playing a movie. When playing a movie using a DVD player, audio is stereo. When playing a movie off of the HD, there is no audio at all. I assume this is SW, and I'm still trying to fix. Seems to be a fairly well known bug with t...
Summary: I bought this with the AMD X6 1055T based on reading the reviews. For some reason my CPU is going up to 60C and I'm not overclocking. This is in a Lian Li PQ-07 itx case. I even tried to change the thermal grease to an OCZ one and It hits 62C! The bios is pretty much set to default/auto.
