Summary: I my personal opinion this board is great! I chose it because of its speed and ASUS reputation. Its main role is for a small nComputing server, this is a list of my setup.... AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition Processor (HDE00ZFBGRBOX) ASUS AM3 / AMD 870 / DDR3 / USB 3.0 / SATA 6 Gb/s ATX Motherboard (M4A87TD/USB3) Kingston 16 GB (4x4 GB) 1600 MHz (PC3-12800) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM (KHX1600C9D3K4/16GX) Zogis GeForce 8600 GT 512 MB DDR2 TV+DVI+VGA PCI-Express Graphics Card...
Summary: I would recamend this board to anyone. The board has a real nice blue and brown theme. Not having the on board video really helps the price because that is unneeded unless you don't get a video card. The Sata 3 6 G/B s is awesome so is the USB 3. The digital audio sound amazing. The only drawback I could find is that the AMD stock fan kinda make that ram cards a little tight but it still fitts. Overall ASUS M4A87TD/USB3 is a awesome mother board.
Summary: Replaced a MSI board that was DOA with this ASUS board. Added Memory, CPU, DVD and video card and immediately was up and running. This board has a core unlocker feature for AMD multicore chips. Once the system was running well in default mode I turned on the core unlocker and now am running the Phenom 2 core cpu with all 4 cores operational. Very stable over 6 hours of stress test with no overheating, cpu glitches or memory misses.
Summary: Bought this board to use in a brand new Win 7 build, and so far it's doing almost everything I wanted it to. Tons of nice features and plenty of BIOS options. There is an option in the BIOS to overlock the CPU by just changing a couple of settings. Or you can get really crazy and start messing with all the voltage settings if you're so inclined. Once the OS and ASUS drivers were installed all my new hardware was recognized without any problems.
Summary: Its a great board, im running windows 7 and does some great work too.... Seems a little buggish, few system shut downs but board has tons of features but dont get carried away, you will end up freezing and and and going unresponsive if u go into it to fast...... Any thing ASUS makes is a Great Product but NO two products are alike....
Summary: Update 3/25/2011 My first impressions were good and I listed them below, yet that is where the happy story eneds and after a few months, there IS STILL NO SOLUTION for the loud poping coming from the onbaord audio. From what I can tell it is a design flaw as the board seems to shut the sound off after a time and their is no way to stop this in the BIOS or the sofware.
Summary: Like the other reviewer said it saw my 1600 ram as 1333. I had to change it in the bios. it also didn't see my ram at first but like the instruction book told me; I held down the button next to the ram slots and restarted and the the board saw my ram. outside of those two things board works flawlessly.
Summary: This was my first time building a computer. For the price and performance you can"t beat this motherboard. On board graphics are just a waste of money, thats why I chose this one. Ive been using this motherboard for about a week. No problems. I will update you guys if anything goes wrong. I highly recommend this mb.
