Poor Customer Service

Rebecca V., Newegg
10 October 2012
  • Pros: OK, while it worked.
  • Cons: Customer Service - The board died after 15 months and was returned. ASUS sent it to the wrong repair facility and lost the board. When they finally found it (after 5 phone calls) they said there was nothing they could do to expedite the repair. Even though they acknowledged that it was their faul...

Good Value, AM3 Board

Matthew F., Newegg
9 July 2012
  • Summary: Pairing it with a Radeon HD 6670 for improved gaming performance now.
  • Pros: Bought this about a year ago to "replace" a Socket 939 motherboard that burned out. I like it. It has been a very decent motherboard for the price I paid (August 2011), and I've been satisfied with the fact that it hasn't blown up. Going from 939 to AM3 was a very fine upgrade.... although still ...
  • Cons: 760g is an older chipset; not sure if AM3 brings good value to the table anymore. Integrated graphics are nothing to write home about.

Still going strong...

Andrew B., Newegg
14 January 2012
  • Summary: My rig: Phenom II X4 3.6GHz MSI 7970 12GB 1333 Sandisk Ultra 120GB SSD XFX 550W Modded old school Antec Sonata II case
  • Pros: I have owned this board for about 7 months and it still does everything I need it to. Unlocked dual core Phenom II black to quad successfully and stably without issue as well under Win7 64bit and overclocked to 3.6GHz as well. Handles the stress of BF3 like a champ. Great feature set and layout.
  • Cons: ACHI mode is difficult to get working for my Sandisk Ultra SSD. It does not want to recognize the drive like my ASRock Extreme3Gen3 will in ACHI mode, forcing me to use IDE mode and thus lowers my performance. Not a huge issue, but still a legitimate gripe.
