Summary: I don't give it 5 stars because I have had to replace several but it does take the quad core processor I use and if I replace it with the identical Mobo, I don't have to reload anything. Last one had defective onboard video, but disabling in BIOS and using PCIe card worked fine. (Had to disable it to stop PC from crashing.
great motherboard for unlocking cores and overclocking

Summary: This is a really great board and it seems that a lot of Asus boards can easily unlock cores. All you need to do is press 4 when the setup screen comes up and it unlocks all available cores. I unlocked a quadcore with this and overclocked the cpu to 3.8ghz as well without changing voltage! This was a bit pricey though, I bought a cheaper Asus motherboard for another build and it did the job too.
Summary: I can barely use any usb on the mobo... using latest bios. Last I tried to install the printer's scanner. Couldnt boot after that. Mouse and printer works but try using a memory or mp3 stick or any other usb device and it crashes. Dont even think of trying to change bios settings. Even windows repair wont work. I have to undo the bios setting and use system or image restore to get my desktop back.
Summary: I just bought this board and it keeeps crashing. I have a AMD Phenom 11 965, 4 gig corsear runs for 1 hour and locks up? What gives? I just found out the problem if you have this board and chip you need to update your bios to #3401.Works very well after that....
Summary: Works greate... Used for building a system with AMD Phenome 1090T, 8 GB ram, 1 TB HDD. To be used as development machine. All the six cores are working good. I have installed Ubuntu 10.10 64 bit Operating System (Shaved $100+ microsoft dollars). OS downloaded and installed ATX drivers automatically. Onboard HDMI, video out is working fine. I haven't over clocked it till now, eventhough there is a provision to do it.
Summary: Rarely do motherboards simply work the first time everything is plugged in, but this one certainly did. Current BIOS version has no problem with my newer Phenom chip, 8G RAM sticks, and Win7 x64. Everything simply works exactly as you would expect. For those who do not absolutely need USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gb, this is a cheaper alternative to the nearly identical 890GX boards.
Summary: Paired it with an AMD Phenom II x4 processor and 4G DDR3 memory. Connected it to a HDTV to watch movies... had no issues so far Pros: - Good documentation - BIOS can be updated easily if you have an internet connection - HDMI 1080p - Multichannel audio Cons: - none
