Summary: If you want reliability, get a Tyan or SuperMicro mobo, pay $500 and save yourself hundreds of hours trying to get this wanna-be board to work reliably at their supposed. I was fool enough to trust ASUS's inflated performance specs.
Pros: With 1 drive and slow memory, it works.
Cons: I have never had a worse experience with a motherboard than with this model. Most average users may not have the issues since the average user would probably not use the RAID capabilities. 3 sets of memory, 12 hard drives later (and cables), STILL experiencing BSOD on Win7 (w or w/o drivers). Lar...
Summary: Mine stopped working after two years. The warranty is 3 years, so I contacted ASUS through their online live chat. The service rep offered to email me the RMA info, but after waiting days, nothing came. The product is so outdated, I don't really want a refurbished one, so I gave up.
Pros: Looked good on paper, had all the right features.
Cons: Onboard LAN failed after about 7 months. RMA'ed it to Asus for another one and the LAN just failed on that one after a few short months too. I could forgive one failure as bad luck, but the second one points to either an inherent design or QC problem with this product.
Summary: I am giving up on ASUS and ATI all together. I have bought 3 asus boards in the past 2 years and 1 went bad, 2 came bad from asus. are you kidding me? as for ATI, installing the ATI software crashed the computer on vista 64bit and I had to load the drivers manually for the resolution to work I have...
Pros: Easy install, everything worked great.. at first..
Cons: The timer chip is bad, after buying the motherboard I found posts online with other people having the same issues. windows clock runs 10x faster all animations are hyper speed pc runs in super speed mode but is unstable all latest drivers and bios
Summary: I used to think that the other people who wrote "1 month to live" reviews were over-reacting... Then it happened to me. Newegg should extend the warranty to 90 days on this board or stop selling it.
Pros: Onboard HDMI, 4 DIMM slots. Worked well for five weeks. Another PCIe 1x slot would be nice tho (in place of one of the 33mhz PCI slots).
Cons: The onboard video card doesn't have enough grunt to decode 1080p video. I had to buy an add-in card (Radeon 4xxx in my case). I bought the motherboard in December. It locked up last night, will not POST today via any onboard or add-in video output. Mysteriously, this is just days after the 30-day...
Summary: I though that ASUS was BEST , but I am wrong!! I owned two products form ASUS, first one is a graphic card, and it was dead after a while. second one is the motherboard and it was dead for a while. Even the RMA was dead after arrive. ( what's wrong with RAM QC?
Cons: 1, owed this product for a few months. And RJ45 interface was DEAD. 2, after got a RMA, and received replacement. It was DEAD after arrive. No post screen and even the power LED that connects to case was dead. 3, called for RMA department again. put me on hold for several times. and until now, st...
Cons: When they don't work they are a total waste of time. Asus is going downhill I think. The chipset driver for this board on their site is 477MB!!! Not that it going to help with the problems you may have.
