Nice Board but a Big Headache

Anonymous, Newegg
19 June 2008
  • Summary: Tech support... basically 3 level of tech help, the higher the more "advanced" help you need... a total wait time of 45-60 minutes to get VARIED opinions (I called twice to test.. was told at least 2 different "this is what you need to do" opinions)....
  • Pros: Cheap price, good layout (no real wiring issues), relatively solid build... Ran well the times it was actually working.
  • Cons: Where to start... RMA'd the first board that came ($20), within of month of running the second one the bios died (had to pay to get a new bios... $20), 2months later I was playing a game and my entire system shut off and wouldn't post.... weird beep codes, and tech support (will talk about shortl...

Not a good crossfire board

Joel R. Copeland, Amazon

Specifically it would boot to a message...

just sloppy

Anthony V., Newegg
9 February 2008
  • Summary: have to settle for an rma....definately thinking about msi next time...this board was an afterthought and despite being loaded with features, it seems as thought asus really dropped the ball with this one
  • Pros: a load of features and very broad tools for oc (even has clock skew for ram)
  • Cons: toasted 2 video cards...at first i thought it was the card that was giving me issues so i plugged another in....don't do that...the transistors were huge and very close to the cpu so i had to measure to the cm when looking at zalman cpu cooling and the northbridge cooling tower was notched to fit...
