Summary: I would like to point out that at the time of this posting the motherboard in question is at least 5yrs old now and dosnt even have DDR3 support
Pros: Cheap, and moderately powerful when I bought it. it supports the newest Phenom II processors, and though displaying a warning about the processor not being compatible on start up I have never had any trouble with it. the build also had a 550 watt powersupply 4GB DDR2 800 ram running XP 64bit with...
Cons: About a year of having this the motherboard died. Though reasonable because the caps are only rated for 5000 hours of life which being constantly on is not even half that time. I had wished I figured this out before buying a new CPU.
Summary: One of the ATX mounting holes (the corner directly beneath the PCI slots) lacks a grounding solder pad. I'll have to get paper washers or nylon screws if I want good structural support there. I really expect better from ASUS.
Pros: Rock solid in operation (so far), not a single hiccup. Serving my needs precisely and well.
Cons: Getting into BIOS the first time is a PITA. It took me twenty minutes to get in. Config defaults to QuickBoot with a full-screen logo. That left my window for finding and hitting the correct key under 250ms long. BIOS settings are confusing. "MAC LAN" can be set to "Auto" or "Disabled"...so what ...
Summary: asus really need to know what there doing there prudicks have also been good and sometimes u have a that just dont work the way u want it to but this board dose over clock quite well for how cheap it is if u get black edison processor were u can go the extream dual core note to self dont work that...
Pros: works great my wife likes it shes a desent gamer no online games but like ghost recon and stuff
Cons: ok this is interrersting on the asus cpu like u can only have three 6 cores that compatable with this board and most commen are 65watts and 95 watt and only 1 125wattout of the hole list so get a 95 or 65 watt to be on the safe side also the NVIDIA onboard is only a 256ddr and if u start up and t...
Summary: I'll come back and rate it higher if I can get it working - but I've been building for 20 years, and this has frustrated me greatly!
Pros: Got this as part of a bundle with ASUS 5450 video card (thanks NewEgg). Easy to put together inside a tight HEC 6T Series 6T18BB case except one thing (See cons). Cheap (essentially free) - got a cheap triple core processor (another bundle at the Egg).
Cons: IT DOESN'T POST! The diagram in the book is incorrect (still wrong online) - the Power LED/switch/HDD light section is incorrect in the book - I have tried multiple combos, but the light won't light. The book does not match the silkscreen or the pin layout.
Summary: probably a good board for dual core machines but would go a different route for x4 or x6.
Pros: easy to use features goes together and fires up great
Cons: bought this in a barebones kit with amd phenom 9750x4 and at every startup it says cpu not compatible press f1 to continue after that all is fine? lots of threads on forums about this problem but no fix for it yet. even updated all drivers and bios and this does not help-be warned .
