Pros: Everything worked pretty much out of the box. I used this in a new build. Total time was a couple of hours, and it was my first time. I don't have a huge video card, but I didn't experience any space issues. Despite what other posts say I found the audio to work quite well, once set up as HD. All...
Cons: I have had some trouble with the BIOS getting the computer to sleep properly.
Summary: Angled SATA connectors? Not in my box. Download the latest drivers, the ones on the CD are very old. I don't do the wireless thing.
Pros: SATA Connectors. RAID. Dual LAN. Worked without a hitch with XP Pro and Vista. Software. Plenty of Fan connectors.
Cons: The board layout could be a bit better. The SATA connectors are covered if using a long video card (9800 GTX+). SLI can be an issue with bigger cards. Only 1 CD/DVD audio connector and again, is in the way of using an oversized video card (9800 GTX+). Audio is ok.
Summary: custom modded antec p180, antec quattro 850w psu, athlon 64 x2 6000+, bfg tech 8800gtx, asus optical drive w/ lightscribe, 2x 500GB seagate barracudas in raid 0, 8GB ocz gold ddr2 800 memory, danger den water blocks, radiators, pump and reservoir.
Pros: lots of great features, and with a bios update, can support am2+ processor. pretty nice layout. love the board
Cons: both network adapters died after about a week, not that important to me, as i had an ethernet card lyin' around. kinda tight fit for my video card, due to the heat pipe connection on the northbridge, and the location of the SATA connections.
Pros: Lots of features, detailed instruction manual, lots of features. There is software that can be used to throttle up or down the system to save power and help reduce heat from being generated.
Cons: Asus software to create RAID disk is horrible. WinXP kept asking for idecoi.dll. It was on the bloody floppy. Anyway it kept crashing during the splash screen, I found drivers on the Nvidia site which worked like a champ. Not once did WinXP ask me for the location of the dll. The forums I looked ...
Pros: It didn't cost me too much respectively and its got a lot of connectors.
Cons: After a year the only sound that it could produce was the digital surround sound outputs (which I use for my surround sound headphones). The other outputs that I connected to my speakers crapped out.
