Rebate what??

Candace S., Newegg
15 August 2012
  • Summary: ASUS rebate claims suck! Ordered OCZ mem at the same time (April 2012). Got the OCZ rebate in no time. Had to call the rebate processing place today, 15 Aug 12 and they "approved" my claim today. There were no issues with the claim, just waiting for some random approval.
  • Pros: Not a bad board. Stable. Been running 24/7 in a media server for about 3 months.
  • Cons: UEFI BIOS is kind of screwy with some displays. Didn't display properly with HDMI out - had to switch to DVI.

Almost Perfect

Christopher W., Newegg
24 July 2012
  • Summary: Did not detect proper timings for Ram, had to specify each one (not just the 10-11-10-30, but around 12 timings), the numbers though were easy to find in another area of the bios, just had to write them down and go back to manually set them and it detected properly upon rebooting.
  • Pros: Very stable so far, easy to use/navigate BIOS, overclocking was dare I say, too easy. I hooked everything up and it just worked (might have had to tweak a few things, see below).
  • Cons: Didn't know before hand, but can't use HDMI and DVI simultaneously, need to use either VGA or display port for 2nd display (been using 2 dvi monitors for couple years now, and just thought I'd need an hdmi>dvi cable for 2nd monitor, but after some searching on why it seemed to be one or the other...

No USB 3 power connector

Anthony R., Newegg
22 April 2012
  • Pros: There is no cable supplied to connect your USB3 to the power supply this I find very strange which leaves all my USB3 unworkable.
  • Cons: I would have given 5 eggs but no workable USB 3 and no cable to connect to the power supply. I've always had good luck with ASUS in the past this distrubs me.

good board, not everything works properly

Anonymous, Newegg
6 March 2012
  • Summary: It is unknown to me at this time if the onboard USB3 ports work. Someday I will know when I add a front port option to my case.
  • Pros: This board is a recommended board for the processor I purchased. I am happy with it overall. Lot of options and USB3. I am pleased with how it is performing and would recommend it to anyone getting the quad core APU.
  • Cons: No PATA connector (something I missed when looking at it). Like someone else wrote, not all the USB3 ports work. Finally got the right drivers installed and only two of the four ports on the back of the board worked.

User Review

Leonid L., Newegg
24 January 2012
  • Summary: I had to update the BIOS from 0702 to 1601 because it did not recognize the A6 CPU.
  • Pros: Everything I wanted in a motherboard plus more. USB3.0 and 2.0, eSATA, 6Gb/s SATA, support for the latest CPUs. It worked.
  • Cons: The box was not sealed. The static bag was not sealed as well. There were visible solder touch ups on the board. I bought a new unit, but received a refurbished one. BIOS menu was a little confusing. I tried all the easy settings and i could not tell a difference in settings.

Thomas D., Newegg

  • Summary: I have 2x XFX radeon 6790's , they don't come with cables either. I asked a friend how he set his up, his motherboard came with the cable.
  • Pros: * 3 PCI-E, FM1 chipset, nice bios
  • Cons: No CROSSFIRE CABLE
