Summary: When the board firest arrived and was set up I could not update the BIOS. Called ASUS and walked through everything with their support tech and finally had to send it to ASUS to replace the BIOS chip and now it works great.
Summary: How do I update the Bios and or whatever else I can download to update this board? Running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64Bit AMD A8-3870K Unlocked Llano 3.0GHz Socket FM1 100W Quad-Core Desktop APU (CPU + GPU) with DirectX 11 Graphic AMD Radeon HD 6550D AD3870WNGXBOX...
Pros: seems to have run decent enough the last 14 months but bogs down with more than 60 windows open but only using 24% of CPU and 13gb of the ram i haven't tried any new games on it though
Cons: can't get good customer support when trying to find out what RAM to buy to upgrade. sent me an email with ram none saying 8gb stick (32gb) at 1866 only 4gb sticks unless I want to use 1600 and the qualified vendors list doesn't even mention running 64gb though the description says it will
Cons: failed within weeks and the board was sent back for repair. now 3 weeks after, the board is on it's way to me and ASUS messed up my address and they won't even contact fedex to change the address. probably going to have to wait another 3 weeks to get the motherboard back to my client. Dell ships ...
Summary: Skip this one if you want a motherboard to work.
Pros: The specs are amazing for the value.. only if l could use them though...
Cons: Tried several times to determine the issue of no signal from Mobo. Evemnthe TV through HDMI is a no-go! Just no signal... Waiting to call Asus and see if it's actually the motherboard but other reviewers confirmed that it's obviously a known issue.
