Not Bad, Tons of Options!

Jonathon M., Newegg
1 March 2012
  • Summary: The build plays Crysis 2 at 45-50fps maxed out no problem, Skyrim pulls 60fps full time on ultra... Setup: ASUS F1A75-I Deluxe mobo AMD A8 3850 APU Scythe Kozuti cooler with extra slim scythe 100mm fan mounted on it Corsair Vengeance 1600 8GB (2 x 4GB) XFX HD Radeon 6970 2GB Seasonic X750 Gold OCZ...
  • Pros: There is a LOT crammed onto this board. Drivers worked fine for me, idk what others are getting problems with that for.
  • Cons: not much room for a decent low profile cooler (expected being a mini ITX.. I had an issue with my processor temps on this board, something i haven't run into before and couldn't find any info on. Once up an running with windows installed and a few games installed, i started running some benchmark...

Excellent board, UEFI, good performance/options

Joseph B., Newegg
23 February 2012
  • Pros: Tons of options, UEFI, SATA 6G, Wifi, remote, etc. You name it, the board has it.
  • Cons: Odd little issue with the memory I bought for it. Its the Patriot PSD38G1600KH 1600MHz 2x4gig set. The board detected it as 1.65v despite the SPD on the DIMMS being 1.5v (verified via CPU-Z). Manually set the voltages to 1.5v and everything is fine. Little bit of an oddity but nothing I cant live...

ASUS f1a75-I deluxe

Robert G., Newegg
18 February 2012
  • Summary: The only way i got the remote to work was to hold down the spacebar on the remote WHILE plugging in the usb dongle. this causes a re-pairing, and has worked since. I tired all the other suggestions for pairing, and plugging/unplugging items, and only this worked.
  • Pros: small and loaded with features. comes with cool remote. ASUS quality.
  • Cons: manual is almost worthless. doesn't show the pinouts for most things on the board. needed a magnifying glass to see the printing on the board itself. no VGA d-sub output, and will not work with dvi-vga adapters.

Great featues, but takes a little TLC

Timothy H., Newegg
17 February 2012
  • Summary: Save yourself a little headache and make sure you set the SATA controller to AHCI instead of IDE before you install an OS. AMD's marketing sold me on the Hybrid CrossFireX idea, but it took some legwork to get it set up.
  • Pros: Great features in a small package. Integrated WLAN saves on an expansion slot or USB port. Bluetooth is cool, but I'm not using it right now. I couldn't find an Intel-based board with SATA 6Gb/s, RAM speed over 1333, and onboard WiFi. The RF remote is a neat feature compared to the more common in...
  • Cons: The remote left some to be desired. I did manage to get it working alongside a keyboard and mouse (check out StayPuff's review if you're having trouble), but my computer will not sleep with the wireless receiver plugged in. The remote's compatibility with media programs is also limited; I was not...

Nice Board not Perfect

Jeffery N., Newegg
29 January 2012
  • Summary: Once everything is up and running it makes a great corner piece for a XBMC box.
  • Pros: This board is loaded, I bought it for a XBMC box. Remote works for once you "Initialize it" Wifi, HDMI, plenty of USB and ESATA port.
  • Cons: Getting it to work with linux was a pain. Under HDMI output the Bios setup is hard to see.

Nice motherboard, nearly useless remote

Mark N., Newegg
22 January 2012
  • Summary: I'm using this motherboard in an Antec ISK 300-65, which is not a good combination, mostly due to poor choices on Antec's part. With the Antec power supply in its default location, the 24-pin power cable isn't long enough to reach.
  • Pros: The motherboard itself is great. Lots of features and nice BIOS. With an A6-3500, 4GB of ram, and a Western Digital WD2500BEVS (pulled from a laptop upgraded to an SSD) it idles at under 30 watts according to my Kill-A-Watt. Easily handles HTPC duty.
  • Cons: The remote is nearly useless. When the receiver is plugged in, my PC won't sleep. If a mouse or keyboard is attached, the corresponding functions on the remote don't work. When it does work, many key presses don't register. Many of the AI Suite utilities only work with administrator privileges an...

ASUS to the Core

George R., Newegg
10 January 2012
  • Summary: Build: AMD A8 3870K ASUS F1A750I DELUXE GSKILL RIPJAWS 8GB WIN7 X64 nMedia 1080p HTPC case other parts harvested / nothing special
  • Pros: ASUS. Remote. All you need out of a mobo, and its mini ITX. Bios options are nice, but could use more descriptions. Still being updated from ASUS from what it seems.
  • Cons: Remote does not seem to work when a mouse/keyboard is plugged in. Dont know why, took me forever to figure out, but it works fine standalone. The PCI-E socket is just too close to the CPU that a dedicated card will not fit with the Scythe Shrunken revB. Tis a shame, but can't fit everything in 6.7".

  • Pros: next-gen bios is neat. everything works fine for me except:
  • Cons: the remote. i can not get it to work on win7x64 no matter what i do. it installs drivers fine but remote does nothing. same results on another win7x64 computer. have not tried on a x32 version or xp yet.

Great HTPC board

Brandon T., Newegg
8 November 2011
  • Summary: This thing set up really easy. All the drivers are on their site were available and seem pretty stable. I would recomend it for sure. Another great ASUS product. Build: AMD A6-3500 Llano 2.1GHz G.SKILL ECO Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) ASUS F1A75-I Deluxe FM1 AMD A75 SeaSonic X series SS-400FL Active PFC F3...
  • Pros: Lots of Bios options Ton of features for such a small board Came with some weird remote
  • Cons: The FP connector for the USB3 Broke on me. I somehow bent a pin when going to plug it in. This could be the plug on my case or the fitting on the board. At the end of the day, i am not missing it. Just be careful. Also, i think it needs a bios upgrade. For the most part,(i'd say 85%) It chews thr...

It works

sterling p., Newegg
23 October 2011
  • Summary: overall I'm happy with the board 3.5 or 4.0/5.0 seems about right
  • Pros: 1) Small 2) lots of bios settings 3) good color scheme 4) cool wireless keyboard 5) can potentially use the mini pcie wifi slot for something else (ie: SSD) 6) internal usb 3.0 header
  • Cons: 1) cpu socket is too close to pcie slot (need a hsf that is less than 100mm wide) I had to modify a Shuriken 100mm by bending the base over 15mm or so .... 2) no vga, dvi-d (no dvi-i) 3) no 5.1 sound 4) can't run memory at 2133 speed without overclocking the bus to 114+ (you pick from a drop down...
