Good performance and reliable

ZhengZH, Amazon
4 February 2013
  • Summary: Good product from famous brand ASUS. Running 24-7 well for a long time. Functional as mentioned. It's a good MB for setting up a HTPC or NAS. Although it price is high, but its value-for-money is acceptable. Recommend it to those who want to setup a HTPC or personal NAS.

Perfect for running a media center

Glenn, Amazon
16 August 2012
  • Summary: This motherboard is perfect for running my small media center. It is silent and the HDMI out handles both video and audio. I am currently running Unbuntu on this motherboard and while it does not have a super high powered processor, the system running efficiently with minimal slow downs.

Great HTPC

Steven C., Newegg
12 July 2012
  • Summary: Antec ISK 300-65 G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 ( ASUS E45M1-I Deluxe AMD E-450 APU AMD Hudson M1 60GB Crucial M4
  • Pros: Silent HTPC. Attached this via HDMI to a 46 inch Samsung 1080p tv. Plays video flawlessly, without skipping. The GPU doesn't break 40% use decoding full 1080p . Paired with a Crucial SSD for snippy and silent HTPC.
  • Cons: Since there is no fan on the CPU, temps can rise based on room temp. In the winter I have this OC'd to 1850mhz without issues. However in the summer my apartment gets warm, @1850mhz temps can push the 60 degree mark. I turned it back to stock clocks and temps run a nice 40 degrees under full load...

ASUS E45M1-I Deluxe

Mace Moneta, Amazon
26 May 2012
  • Summary: I purchased this for use in a file server. I'm using Fedora 17 (Linux), and installation was problem-free, including the GUI. Performance is good, and the system is stable. I've seen some comments about this running hot, but I'm running at 46.0C; perhaps those with a problem have inadequate cooling...

Great All In One Mini ITX Board

Yung C., Newegg
19 May 2012
  • Pros: All in one solution, HD Graphics that can support 1920x1080 flash video, Built in HDMI, Bluetooth, Wireless, USB 3.0. Takes 8GB of G.Skill DDR3 1333 without any issues.
  • Cons: CPU does feel a bit sluggish as suggested by other reviewers. This is particularly noticeable during Windows update process. During normal operations (i.e., web browsing, music playback) the CPU is doing a respectable job.

Great Little Giant ITX

Gerardo P., Newegg
21 April 2012
  • Summary: With demanding software nowadays I wish Amd had made the APU E450 a bit more higher on the CPU section, rather than 1.65ghz why not go to 2 or 2.5ghz. Having used a Foxconn D2700 Atom this beats the pants off that unit and the Foxconn had gone back for uselessness.
  • Pros: Now from an HTPC stand point this is perfect for your build. Quiet no fan passive cooling keeps the motherboard cool even touching the heat sink there isn't much heat generated. Video is great no stutter whatsoever with internet video or 1920x1080p at 60hz video. Built in Wifi pulls in a great si...
  • Cons: none, except the CPU could be higher in frequency from 1.65ghz to at least 2.13 ghz or 2.5.
