Nice

Timko Mathiasen, Amazon
24 May 2014
  • Summary: The brain of my FreeNAS, nice quit, and responsive. Lots of SATA for my FreeNAS, I put 8Gb ram and the board has no need of kvm or monitor to fully boot, which was great as a server for me.

Just what I needed

Flyer, Amazon
16 April 2014
  • Summary: Like some others, I wanted to build a home NAS array. I was having trouble finding a motherboard that had many SATA ports when I ran across this one. With the six on board SATA and a 4 port PCI-e SATA card I was set to go. I loaded up NAS4FREE and started with 3 4TB drives in a RAIDZ array. After a little OS tuning I utilize 60% CPU time and 70% memory ( up from <15% memory and CPU time ) and can write 70+ MB/S (up from about 40MB/S).

Exactly what I have been looking for

Tim Soderstrom "m00dawg", Amazon
10 January 2014
  • Summary: What I was looking for was a modern, but fanless, processor, 6 SATA ports and GigE to power my Linux-powered home NAS. This delivers. The only minor gripe I could have is lack of dual NIC, so it cannot be used as a router without adding a NIC (via the PCIe expansion slot). I run an LVM + MD RAID (RAID5) stack and am testing btrfs. The E350 isn't a fireball but it does keep up and is able to outpace my raw drive performance.

Greate for my Ubuntu Precise 12.04 install

Mimosa Consulting "Don Bauer", Amazon
23 February 2013
  • Summary: I installed this Motherboard in a In-Win Case BP671.200BL Mini-ITX Mini Tower Black 200W 1/0/(2) Bay USB HD Audio Installed Ubuntu 12.04 (precise) 64-bit, using on-board video, audio. The install was perfect and I have absolutely NO issues with ASUS or Ubuntu. The board is fast, energy efficient and contains one PCI-e video slot for an additional card (I use on-board video). The 2 of 6 SATA3 ports are used for 2 hard drives (one is 6gps drive).

Best value mini-itx motherboard with 6 SATA ports

Dougie Fresh, Amazon
14 October 2011
  • Summary: I spent a lot of time over the past year looking for a motherboard to use in a home server build. I wanted six SATA ports in a mini-itx board, which until I found this motherboard, could only be found for a lot more money and/or from manufacturers I do not trust. Lately, ASUS has been my go to manufacturer and once again they have not let me down.

Perfektes Server-Board

darkness, Amazon
29 August 2012
