Summary: This review might gain more stars depending on how long the next board lasts after this RMA. I owned this board for a little over a month and used the computer at least 30 hours a week and it was working really well... until a couple days ago. I tried booting up the computer and got an FF error on the mother board. I tried several things to try and fix it and nothing worked so I contacted Asus support.
Summary: I purchased the ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard from Amazon on September 11 2013 to build a computer. It ran great for four months till it had a FF boot error. Since this has happened I have spent 30 additional dollars in shipping to have ASUS fix my motherboard. I have shipped it to them four times and have been going through this for two months. I have never had such bad repairs.
Summary: This is my 3rd time ordering an ASUS motherboard and this is the 2nd one that hasn't worked out of the box. Everyone else I've talked to has always had good luck with ASUS so even after the first one didn't work I brushed it off as a fluke and ordered another. It's frustrating when a $220 motherboard doesn't work. I sent it back and ordered a Gigabyte motherboard instead and it has worked perfectly.
Summary: i had High hopes for this board . I wanted the best of the best . What a joke the board was dead would not post to Cmoss just posted code FF . Looking at the manual their is no post code it says "reserved for future am3 " so that was no help . I tryed 2 different power supplies , 3 sets of memory . and booting out of the case with 1 stick of ram and just one vid card . No joy. I tryed to get it to update the bios but sticking a bios file on a usb stick , nothing .
Summary: I have been a faithful ASUS customer for over a decade. Needless to say, there have been issues in the past with the quality of their products. I decided to give them one more chance, and boy are they making me pay for that decision. The board was received completely dead on arrival. I spent a week on tech support and was directed to purchase an additional BIOS chip as this was the culprit.
Summary: Asus support and warranty are by far sub standard. If you ever have a board that is no longer manufactured but still under warranty and you send it in you will get screwed. I sent a board in for repair and was told it could not be fixed. Asus gave me a new board that was a different chip set. After receiving the replacement board, I had to buy new memory and a cpu.
Summary: Ich habe das Mainboard Jetzt schon zum 2. mal bestellt da das 1. Kaputt war. Auch das Austauschgerät hatte den selben Fehler. Die LED leuchtet die angibt das die Grafikkarte/VGA-Karte nicht erkannt wurde. Nach dem hinzuziehen eines IT Fachmanns stellten wir fest das ALLE PCI_Express und PCI Anschlüsse kaputt waren.
