Great for a server

Grant G., Newegg
27 June 2011
  • Summary: I use this as a Linux server running Gentoo and I have nothing but smooth sailing with this hardware. Kernel booted on the first try, and it has never not been able to boot. I have had it running 24/7 for over a year now and it just keeps going.
  • Pros: Silent, fast, stable, and low power.
  • Cons: None.

Thoroughly disappointing

Gregor N., Newegg
22 June 2011
  • Pros: Cheap, easy to install, quiet, fast when it does work
  • Cons: I never got this board to be stable. I tried two different versions of Windows (XP and Win7), different memory sticks, different hard drives, different power supplies, BIOS updates. On average it will run for one hour before bluescreening--sometimes a lot faster. I also get random application cra...

Pleasant Suprise

12 March 2011
  • Pros: This board is hard to beat for the price. I'm using these in Asterisk servers and haven't run into an issue yet. I'm only adding a Seagate hard drive and 1 or 2 Gig of memory, but the fact their is no fan needed is one of the biggest reasons I chose this particular motherboard. I sometimes need t...
  • Cons: Nothing I can think of.

Works nicely for carpc

William B., Newegg
10 March 2011
  • Summary: I first purchased the Intel D510 but I couldn't get it boot, only post. So purchased this as a the next cheapest thing. USB Power problem It seems to have a problem powering certain items connected to the I/O ports. If I tired to connected my external DVD drive, it would spin.
  • Pros: Fast boot and post times. Takes very little time to get to windows resume hibernation screen(against the Zotac LGA775 board) Fanless Gigabit networking Has a parallel and serial....if you need that.
  • Cons: USB haves problems powering items(read below) Only one audio out(read below) The heatsink is pretty hot, however its not bad. Expensive, the Intel version is cheaper. No PCIe or mini PCIe slot. Only two SATA. More USB ports on the outside would be nice, though there are two or so headers internal.

Great little MOBO

Joseph P., Newegg
26 February 2011
  • Pros: Good little mobo for the price. I used this to build a little system for the in-laws. Fast, stable, and quiet. I've got it going with 2GB of Kingston Ram and a Seagate 320GB HD. Plays flash at full screen on a 23" Monitor. Great bang for the buck!
  • Cons: No PCI express but they will never need it.

9 February 2011
  • Summary: DO NOT BUY FOR AN HTPC!! I am really hoping that a future Flash update might fix this. The board is perfect except for this LITTLE annoyance.
  • Pros: Dead silent Boots fast More than fast enough for most tasks
  • Cons: Will not run Flash sites like Hulu in full-screen. The video is choppy, even at low resolution like 360P. I bought this for the sole purpose of being my HTPC and streaming sites like Hulu, Netflix, etc.. Asus and Nvidia sites rave on about how the Ion GPU will serve up 1080P video. Apparently thi...

Love it

Yevgen K., Newegg
2 February 2011
  • Pros: Absolutely silent, don't need any coolers in case installed. Does great job especially with intensive tasks.
  • Cons: 4GB top is quite a limit, i wish i could put 8 or 16 Gb of RAM on it.

Won't fit 1U Rackmount Case

Robert H., Newegg
1 December 2010
  • Pros: No issues as of yet. I have been using more pricey Pinewood-based boards for 1U servers, but this box is not mission critical so I thought I'd try this board that costs half of a Super***** board. I also used a leftward 1U right-angle PCI adapter to install a PCI card.
  • Cons: Be aware that this board does not fit a 1U rackmount case due to excess vertical height of the audio connector. I used a Dremmel to cut a rectangle in the case top so the board would fit properly. With the case on, it's still a true 1U, so the audio connector is just a mm too tall.
