  • Summary: This is Asus. I am only disapointed when they don't work, which seldom happens. One more happy customer. No complaints.

Best motherboard for casual gamer

Edgar I., Amazon

  • Summary: Great upgrade to my Asus Striker Exteme motherboard, be sure to update your bios first to support the latest kaveri APU. Runs cool, a lot of room to overclock but default is fine for casual gaming. Runs Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and Win 8.1 !

Easy setup

Miles W., Amazon

  • Summary: This MB was easy to set up, and the comments/ Q&A prior to mine were helpful in the building of the system. The USB Bios update is great, and the system runs good with the AMD A10-7700k processor. I am not pushing this system at all with games, but the video is very good just using the onboard GPU. I installed Windows 7 Pro 64 bit with no issues either. The system has been built for over a month now, and no issues.

Asus A88X-Pro

Steve I., Newegg
18 April 2014
  • Summary: I bought this board for use as a component of a moderate - performance, value - priced work station for use in a research lab after consulting the Asus HCL for the board, CPU, and RAM combination purchased. It has performed reliably since installation. We process mass spectrometric data with it in metabolomics experiments that involve large sample sets. Batch jobs run for 24 to 36 hours at 90% of CPU saturation for all 4 cores. Nothing is overclocked.
  • Pros: This board has a good feature set. It has worked reliably for two months since purchase as a component of a work station in a research lab. Status LEDs and 2 digit numeric display on MB are very useful during system setup.
  • Cons: Somewhat twitchy driver installation (Win 7 Enterprise, 64 bits). Some driver installers available on the Asus support site (2/2014) did not work correctly.

Look, ma! No Video Card.

Robert P., Newegg
16 April 2014
  • Summary: I was worried that I would need to add a video card to this board because of needing to spend hundreds more. But so far plays games without lag. As others suggested, I put the AMD 3.7 CPU on this board with the Hyper 212 cooler and it is running at 4200 @ less than 35 degrees C. Sound is great. I feel like a genius, but I owe it to the great reviews found here on this site. Thanks to all who helped.
  • Pros: Great board at a great price.
  • Cons: Just the usual SATAIII placement problems, i.e., side mounted. Cables could be tight if case is not large enough.

  • Summary: This motherboard is loaded for the price! Has an extra 3.0 slot on it to power your front and one in the back. It also has six fans that you can connect to it for control! I would buy this board for my next build in a heartbeat!
