ASUS A7V8X-X

Steven M., Newegg

  • Summary: This mother board was purchased for $115 and was recommended to me. Glad it was.
  • Pros: The best Socket A mother board ever! I bought this back in 2002 from a long gone computer chain and this mobo still works to this very day. It's now in my living room family computer and is still useable and bearable. I just can't believe it still works perfectly. It's been through over 6 cases a...

  • Summary: Good basic motherboard. Nothing special. Don't like how the memory slots overlaps with the agp slot. You must take out the video card to upgrade/change memory. Stability is great though! For the price very good deal. Fedex=Fast shipping Newegg=Great as always

Great for Workstations

John D., Newegg
8 June 2005
  • Summary: Not a lot of money and no reliability issues. More ports (1394a) would be nice, but I am not really complaining. Used Kingmax RAM and 2500+ Bartons. No problems there. Newegg was great as always.

  • Summary: Nice basic board, not alot of bells and whistles, and NOT for overclocking. It is very picky about RAM though.

  • Summary: I have an ASUS board in my computer, and was doing a budget build for a client. Stuck a Sempron 3000+ with the Barton core in this. Everything worked fine except there was some hardware conflict between the board and the ASUS nVIDIA GeForce MX4000 video card.

  • Summary: Second one of these boards I've used and am very pleased with both. Great entry level board with onboard Lan, Vid, and Aud. Everything installs nicely and runs great. I'm using both boards with AMD 2400+ Semprons. Love Asus and Newegg!

  • Summary: Excellent mobo! If you don't need any bells or whistles, this is the board for you. I have used it in three builds with xp 2500+ cpus and have had not one problem. I have overclocked two of them to 2.2Ghz without a hitch. If you need a good socket A board with no frills, look no further!
