RMA

DAVID U., Newegg
10 June 2013
  • Pros: It looks nice.
  • Cons: inspected the motherboard it looked fine when I had all parts available to begin assembly but I noticed (upon very close inspection) ONE cpu pin was slightly bent in the wrong direction. Called newegg and I told them in advance that I was EXTREMELY careful and that one pin was the only thing that...

Good motherboard, bad RMA experience

Michael R., Newegg
1 June 2013
  • Summary: I'm hoping ASRock support will be more helpful. If I'd damaged any CPU pins, how could I have troubleshooted the RAM socket problem and run with the motherboard while waiting on the RMA number to show up?
  • Pros: Good board overall, fit fine in a Bitfenix Prodigy case.
  • Cons: Not compatible with the EVO 212 cooler I'd planned to use. This board refused to accept any RAM in the second slot. Similar to another customer's experience, Newegg RMA claims I caused CPU pin damage, and I'm being returned a not-fully-working motherboard.

Good, but not great. Returned

Jane T., Newegg
26 March 2013
  • Pros: I actually really liked this motherboard when I first tested it. Easy to install and setup. No driver problems. BIOS setup and interface were great. I love the board map in the BIOS that allows you to see what is connected to where. I never saw this before and it makes it really easy to troublesh...
  • Cons: After a day or two I started to regularly received an error message saying there was a power surge in the USB 3.0 ports and they got shut down. Had to restart to get them working again. This seemingly cut off the 4 USB ports on the back of the card. So basically all your peripherals get cut off. ...

Towne, Newegg
15 March 2013
  • Summary: So yeah, really bummed I cant have my client's build ready till another week and having to absorb the cost of this board. Just going to buy from local dealer to save some time. Will say the RMA process @ newegg is usualy great. But my main con is the audio not working right on the board.
  • Pros: Love the 5x5x5 options, having a virtual hdd on the ram is ver convient. On paper this board was great See cons
  • Cons: Got a defective board. The Sound would only output to the right speakers. I tried everything I could think of. Then noticed front ports weren't working either. Tried another board, front ports worked fine. Then did new drivers, no change. At that point I RMA'd the board due to the hardware sound ...

BIOS has some quirks with regards to the voltage

Stan Pennors, Amazon
3 January 2013
  • Summary: The motherboard works fine for most things except LLC. The LLC is stuck on Level 1 (100% compensation and more for vDroop) if you use fixed voltage ; with offset voltage the LLC works fine. If you're not overclocking, the motherboard is great. That's the only problem!!

User Review

Camille G., Newegg
26 December 2012
  • Summary: Other than the faulty build quality of the wifi adapter the board is pretty solid all around
  • Pros: -BIOS is easy to work with -mSATA on the bottom of motherboard (clever use of space) -HDMI and DVI ports on the I/O -eSATA port
  • Cons: -Built in wi-fi is really low quality: The antenna provided doesn't have the great signal and the wires are really thin. The actual headers where that come out the back of the I/O aren't properly supported so when you twist the antenna on it spins with the headers. Eventually this led to the ante...

A Bit Overpriced for What it Delivers

C. Price, Amazon
18 December 2012
  • Summary: I've used about every H77/Z77 ITX board out there, and quite honestly, I can't figure out why this one is priced higher than the competition (as of this review). The external Wi-Fi antenna may be very functional, but certainly is ghastly ugly.

Decent, Buy it only if your looking for ITX

Audrey R., Newegg
8 December 2012
  • Summary: I will start off by saying that I had to RMA my board because a RAM slot was defective (upon closer inspection it turned out that a pin in the ram slot was missing). RMA request has been approved within a very short period of time so over all I am happy about that.
  • Pros: Small, Powerful, Decent amount of features.
  • Cons: I feel that the wifi on the board feels cheap overal, yes its an added feature but honnestly I would have prefered just having an available M-PCIE Slot.

RMA received

Francois L., Newegg
13 September 2012
  • Summary: I hope the replacement board lasts, it hurt to be away from the Battlefield for this long.
  • Pros: RMA process is completed for my dead board. I was given quick and courteous service from ASRock and their service center in Canada. The replacement board was sent within a reasonable amount of time. The new board works fine, Thanks ASRock
  • Cons: I had to pay for 2-way shipping. I don't know if this is the norm but an excellent customer service would offer at least return shipping.

Works when normal, but no OC

Lance P., Newegg
18 May 2012
  • Summary: Antenna was REALLY cheap looking. I bought my own router antennas and they worked perfect. This was my first time buying from ASRock. First impressions matter and this one is 40/60. Good looking board with great features...but the features don't work.
  • Pros: Well packaged and looks beautiful. Had everything on the board I needed for a small gaming PC. Bios is easy to navigate, and actually a joy to look around. Looks like it has some great settings and adjustments. USB 3.0..fast! Flashing the bios is super easy to do with a usb stick. By far the fast...
  • Cons: Will not overclock a Sandy bridge 2500k (also bought here at the egg). Every time you try to manually change the multiplier it resets back to 33 stock. treats my 2500k like its a locked chip, even though it "see's" it as a 2500k (which it is). I've flashed to the new bios, flashed back to the ori...
