great performance. Lasted for years.

Tim d., Newegg
2 January 2016
  • Summary: larger CPU rads block pci 3.0 slot lower pci-e slot is blocked by sata cord connectors if in use. After 5 years of use [i updated this review] this board has proven the most durable and has always performed. The new z170 extreme4 and 6 are worthless in comparison. Great board.
  • Pros: Great performance. Board has everything you would need for a fast computer. Board has out performed my others for over 5 years.
  • Cons: The USB 3.0 never did work. after all the driver updates etc I never got the speeds to work better than 2.0. It always says "this device could work faster" when plugged into the 3.0 port. Sound ports died after about 2 years.

Terrible Quality/Support

Christopher W., Newegg
12 March 2014
  • Summary: I bought and installed this mobo in August of 2011. It died last week, after giving me problems for the last few months before that. No big deal, you might say. The problem is, their RMA service takes forver, i'm on my second week of dealing with this, and thats with me paying for overnight shipping...
  • Pros: -Cheap -Worked for a year
  • Cons: -Didn't even 2 years

Great Value Board

Walter K., Newegg
10 March 2014
  • Summary: In all honesty I doubt that the Gold caps add that much to the board. I think that one is more for show.
  • Pros: Easy to install, easy to power up. Has all the slots needed for those of us that find 1 video card adequate. Stable. No hick-ups on the install. Picked up my SSD and HDD no problem. Easiest install ever. I love Asrock boards, I have tried several brands that I do not think I am allowed to name an...
  • Cons: I have large hands so a little more width wouldn't hurt.

Giving ASRock a try!

Colin C., Newegg
12 February 2014
  • Summary: Giving ASRock a shot for this years PC build, so far I'm impressed with the simple look and the ease of everything.
  • Pros: I really like the BIOS screen and how easy it was to update! Has everything I need for a solid gaming build, nothing fancy.
  • Cons: Board is "flimsy" compared to other manufacturers. and it doesn't come with a speaker dongle to plug into the mobo. The manual was could have done more with pictures instead of graphs.

Very good, exactly what I need

Patrick C., Newegg
21 January 2014
  • Pros: This is exactly what I paid for. It is smaller than my old one, easier to figure out/wire and is all around great for gaming (and I mean hardcore gaming)
  • Cons: Only downside would be that you can't put 2 graphics cards on PCI express 3.0 as there is only 1 slot

Great Functions, Horrible Quality

Alexander M., Newegg
21 December 2013
  • Pros: Had every single feature that I wanted in a motherboard.
  • Cons: The quality of the motherboard feels really cheap. The SATA ports allow the cords to wiggle a lot while in the ports. The board itself is really flexible instead of stiffer boards. a month ago my computer would start shutting of randomly, sometimes when I would bump the case it would shut off too...
