Great Board!

james d., Newegg
30 January 2014
  • Summary: I love this board. I'm sticking with Sandy Bridge's overclocking ability with no plans to upgrade. A 2600k @ 5.2ghz with 16gigs of ram at 2133mhz is plenty of power to run anything and everything I need. Until Intel or AMD comes out with something 50% or faster. I have no real reason to build new.
  • Pros: this is a great board for overclocking. running a 2600k @ 5.2ghz. Relatively easy setting up the overclock, with the included profiles to get you into the ballpark setting wise. Built in ram profiles, really helps dial in your ram. This board seems to be aimed at the advanced tech knowledge to th...
  • Cons: Apparently ASRock's customer service sucks. Thankfully I have not had to use it. And very occasionally the BIOS will reset itself to stock. Had that happen a few times since I've owned the board.

User Review

Nicholas G., Newegg

  • Pros: This is the second high-end board I have ever bought and I am very satisfied with it. Been using it for about a year now and I have not had any issues with it. Even comes with a tube of Gelid GC-Extreme thermal paste which was the top rated paste recently on tomshardware. I was torn between this ...
  • Cons: The little 40mm fan that it comes with was kinda loud and it died after about 5 months. I never bothered to replace it anyways since my case gets decent airflow and I haven't noticed anything different about my system from not having it run

great board!!!!

10 November 2013
  • Summary: this was the first Asrock board I've owned, had Asus, Gigabyte, and MSI boards in the past. My last setup was a MSI z68-gd65 with a 2600k. which was a terrible clocker eventually the board died and took out the cpu. RMA'd the 2600k and bought the Asrock z77 oc formula.
  • Pros: good looking board with very stable power delivery. was easily able to clock my 2600k to 5.2ghz stable for 24/7.
  • Cons: stupidly loud engine revving sound when you first enter BIOS

Excellent board

Rick K., Newegg
24 October 2013
  • Pros: Bought this board to go along with a brand new i7-3770k. After installing them both, I went straight to the bios and used the 4.5ghz OC profile, set the memory xmp profile to 1600mhz and booted up. Everything has been running excellent so far, with no issues at all. Everything stays very cool as ...

Best board ever!

Antony D., Newegg
28 July 2013
  • Summary: ASROCK has great support - the Ivybridge OC champion (7.13GHz), Nick Shih, returned me emails in minutes regarding OC tips - he helped design this board and it shows! Don't hesitate and buy it now - it's an easy upgrade.
  • Pros: My INTEL DZ77GA-70k gave up after 10 months - it had problems with memory and BIOS FLASH getting stuck in BOOT LOOPS from get-go - very unstable - INTEL said I bent a socket pin during RMA process - LOL! So, I plug this ASROCK board in and it booted into all my 6 OS's including LINUX distros - no...
  • Cons: Is sometimes late with cooked breakfast in the morning...
