Summary: It took a while to pick a mobo. I am happy that I went with this one. It is a solid performer and a great overclocker. I built the following system and it is rock solid @ 4.3 GHz. Corsair Obsidian Series Black 650D Mid Tower ASRock Z77 OC Formula Intel Core i5-3570K Quad-Core Processor 3.4 GHz Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus EVGA GeForce GTX 680 FTW 4096MB GDDR5 Samsung 840 Pro 256 GB SATA3 SSD Western DIgital Caviar Black 1TB SATA3 HDD Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3...
Summary: Bought this motherboard to replace my Foxconn mobo that burnt out. Happy to say it fit in my case - its rather large - and everything is working as expected. The layout is nice, and the ports are really easy to get to. Love the ability to overclock, as well.
Couldn't get Windows 7 or Server 2003/2008 to install
28 March 2013
Summary: Had to return the first board. Anything prior to Windows 8 wouldn't load and then the board started to have issues with posting. Update: Received 2nd board, same issue. Windows 7 and Server 2008 won't get past the "Starting Windows" logo at the very start of setting up windows. Tried two different kinds of memory. I will have to go up to my office and grab another processor and see if thats the issue.
Summary: I've been VERY pleased with this motherboard. Contains many of the latest features and has shown great performance. Paired with an Intel i7 3770K processor, my PC screams. The boot time from power on (not standby) to the Windows 8 logon screen is at 10 seconds. I couldn't be happier with this purchase.
Summary: I'm not an over-clocker (so far) but this board is extremely well built and reliable. I have an I5 chip, 32 gig of memory and a 2gig video card. I added a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO to cool the CPU. The board has 13 thermal sensors. My I5 chip is currently running at 75 degrees ferinheight and the highest temperature on the mother board is 87 degrees. If heat is the big enemy of a desktop computer then this one should last forever.
Summary: In the past, I have only bought MSI and Asus motherboards. I swore to those brands. However, after looking at all of the benchmarks I decided to venture out and try this board. It it easily one of the top performing z77 boards period. The aesthetics are sexy. The overclocks are so high. The quality is the best I've had my hands on. If you want the best and are ok with spending a little, this is what you want.
Summary: I wasn't sure what I would be getting into with this board as I have never purchased ASRock before. I have had good luck with Asus so I was hesitant to try anything else. The many awards and great reviews on other websites swayed me so I decided to give it a try as it had the features I was looking for. So far I am quite happy with it. [...] Pros: The Bios screens are fantastic! This leaves Asus Bios in the dust on Mars.
Summary: Great motherboard. Everything is working perfect. This motherboard has so many cool features and is well worth the money. At first it was difficult because one must use a certain group of host bus adaptors to plug their SATA cable going to their SSD into and then change settings in the default BIOS settings but once this was figured out (2 days trial and error), it worked perfect.
