Summary: Pros: Supports all my HTPC needs Cons: Unusual fan settings results in a louder than normal HTPC out of the box I put my HTPC together and was dissatisfied at first. The computer was very loud! I quickly learned it was the CPU and case fans blasting at full speed even while the computer was idling. Upgrading the BIOS didn't help. This is unusual and I've never seen a motherboard do that before in my 20 years of system building.
Summary: If you're looking for a decent motherboard to handle your mid-level gaming rig, then this is the one for you. Although you are not able to overclock your CPU with this motherboard, overclocking isn't really a necessity unless you are an enthusiast who is never satisfied......It's a curse.
Summary: Pros: 1) Pretty simple board to setup 2) Good price 3) Overall quality seems good. Cons 1) Don't even think about overclocking it. 2) Bios and drivers are outdated (on website) 3) Software for controlling the MB in Windows is not good compared to ASUS. I bought this board for the price, to keep my HTPC downsize to a reasonable cost. It met that obligation, and it runs great with proper cooling.
Summary: Looks great, has good functionality, and bios is great. I looked at plenty of motherboards before finally choosing this one. I didn't like the blues/yellows/reds and pci slots other motherboards had. Some pros are: 4x pci-e slots (3x x16, 1x x1), black pcb, 4x 6 gbps sata, 4x ram slots, and usb 3.0. It also has plenty of fan headers if you ever need them. It also has support for 2 different sized heatsink mounting options.
Summary: I had an extra 1155 socket CPU laying around and I decided to build a miner with this mobo. I am currently running 3 GPU's with risers. There is also potential for 4 but I have not yet tried it. If you use this for Dogecoin mining, I would recommend getting power switches. This aided me in my entry level dogecoin miner, and for it's price point it serves it's purpose.
Summary: I've been using Asus and Gygabyte motherboards for ages and hadn't never had any issues with them. I had hear good things about this AS Rock board from some people, so I'd thought I'd venture to buy new brand and model for my new build's mobo. Well, let's say that I was not impressed. The board came DOA. No DVI or VGA signal whatsoever. Went to their website, found the product page but all they have there is the same information/manual they include with the board.
Summary: I built a HTPC with this board and it works a treat. No problems. Easy setup and well designed. I have Win 7 running on it with a SSD but I bet it is even faster with linux. Using XBMC for the media player.
