Worst MB out of hundreds

Alan E., Newegg
4 December 2014
  • Summary: I have bought many many inexpensive motherboards from many manufacturers and this was by far the worst
  • Pros: None
  • Cons: Worst motherboard I ever owned or worked with. On-board SATA ports don't work right and killed a WD Hard Drive. USB is on again off again. Front USB stopped working completely.

Good for the price.

  • Summary: Seriously, I tried very hard to get the BIOS updated, searched for hours on the web, found nothing helpful.
  • Pros: -Lasting me for 3 years so far, no problems. Running an i3 560, and a gtx 460 on it. -
  • Cons: -Could never figure out how to update the BIOS, even if it was possible for this motherboard. -Comes with a lot of useless software. -Not a lot of customer support reguarding the BIOS update.

Performs well

Gjon N., Newegg

  • Pros: I had this and upgraded to 1155 i5 3350 and I am impressed by how little difference I am experiencing in performance. Granted I am not using the 6gb with SSD in the new board but seeing as I am not, I could have saved 400 smackers and stayed putt.
  • Cons: no 6gb, but unless you're going SSD, save the money

serves its purpose

  • Summary: You really don't need more than 2 ram slots because 8gb (2x4gb) is cheap right now and more than enough for 99% of people. Running a G6950 at 4.2ghz 1.25v stays nice and cool with a small 92mm aftermarket cooler.
  • Pros: Great board on the cheap for a HTPC, even a light gaming rig as well. Good onboard sound considering the price point. simple bios with overclocking and voltage controls. Nothing extreme tweaking but all the main ones are there such as Vcore, Dram, VTT, PCH, PLL. This isn't an extreme overclocking...
  • Cons: Really nitpicking, can't complain much for the price....but....no USB 3.0 or sata 6gb/s ports, only 4 sata ports and 2 ram slots. Could also use some more fan headers, but atleast it has 2 (on top of the CPU fan).

User Review

David V., Newegg

  • Summary: If I can find an ATX motherboard made by Asrock or ASUS, I will buy it.
  • Pros: Overclocks easily and efficiently for a microatx motherboard. After changing the voltage of the CPU, I was able to overclock my intel core i5-661 from 3.33 ghz to 4.4 ghz.
  • Cons: Incredibly short warranty, but the extended warranty should do the trick. 2 memory slots, but it is smaller than my Intel DH55TC.

excellent board

Joseph S., Newegg
25 January 2012
  • Pros: This board is excellent. I paired it with an i3-540 and have it overclocked to 3.677ghz and completely stable, while being undervolted. Vcore is currently at 1.15 in bios, and at load in windows is showing as 1.1! All other voltages are at their lowest possible manual settings (except DRAM which ...
  • Cons: In this price range, I can't really complain. It is a solid board that has done everything I've asked it to for $sixty five.

  • Cons: a little worried that the pressure needed to fasten the tension bar was too much, kinda scared me. other than than nothing.

amazing value

Kurt S., Newegg
18 January 2012
  • Summary: A great, simple bios, and very functional software utilities. Easily the best $65 motherboard I've ever purchased.
  • Pros: everything needed for a nice, solid little home system. Paired with the i540 and some corsair CL8 1600, went together fast and furious. Overclocked to 3360 w. o. boosting any voltage save the dram setting (super easy), . Idling/browsing at 33*C, SpeedStep off(couldn't get XP to do it-prob. my bad...
  • Cons: DPC latency checker does show a bit of rocky latency, even with QPI running 3100-ish. But, heck, feels way snappy and solid, and that's not really the motherboard's fault. Drawback of the Clarkdales? but it may be my ram. Running 8 8 8 24 88. Tried to move the 88 setting down...wouldn't boot. How...

Best Bang for Buck

Mirsad R., Newegg
1 December 2011
  • Summary: For the price, and after what I mentioned above... this is THE motherboard to get if you are an IT guy and are building multiple computers for a company... It was an absolute pleasure to build this machine with the parts above that I mentioned (of course you can replace the SSD with a conventional...
  • Pros: I don't know where some of these negative reviews are coming from? Maybe people with small pockets and little knowledge of computer building... I have this board in my budget work computer with an i3 540 @ 4.2Ghz 24hr Prime/Furmark stable (that says a lot) Vcore reads 1.28 at idle. 1.232 at full ...
  • Cons: Pros continued: Running Windows 7 Pro 64bit. This thing flies. Instant launches, multitasking. Ridiculously cheap $500 budget build. (I could have easily not bought the video card and used it as it was to reduce price by another 100-120... ridiculous!!!) The case/psu combo saved a lot, and the vo...
