Good replacement MB; LAN needs updated driver

Eric T., Newegg
31 May 2014
  • Summary: Used as a replacement-upgrade for an Acer PC, has worked out great. Only thing is that under Windows XP the LAN won't operate correctly (will keep shutting down) unless an updated driver is installed.
  • Pros: Works well.
  • Cons: LAN needs updated driver (not on ASRock site).

Great Board

Ryan L., Newegg
28 October 2013
  • Pros: The reason I purchased this was because my fiance's laptop died and she needed another computer quickly. I had an old computer from high school in the closet; everything on it was good except for the motherboard, which had been fried in an electrical storm. I purchased this board since it still h...
  • Cons: None, as this is a great board.

Using several of these, work great

Eric B., Newegg
26 October 2012
  • Summary: Newegg got it to me fast. :) Glad I can still get the older DDR2 ram based boards so only had to swap the board in the PC, moving the CPU and RAM and replugging everything in. Was done in about a half hour and back up and running.
  • Pros: I have 4 or 5 of these mobo's in several of our PC's here. Bought another one just recently to replace what I thought was a bad mobo of another brand. Turns out it was a RAM dimm that had gone south. Replaced the RAM and this mobo is stable as the steel building we are in. :) This is even an upda...

Great Motherboard

Ryan P., Newegg
9 October 2012
  • Pros: Easy installation, easy setup. I installed this board into a Win 98 case along with a Celeron Processor, 4GB ram and a 500GB hard drive with a hard drive dock on the front. This mobo has helped expedite countless DoD formats and will make a great imaging station when the time comes.

great upgrade board for older CPUs

Jimmy W., Newegg
24 September 2012
  • Summary: My 3rd AsRock MB build in the last couple months and all have been without a hitch.
  • Pros: Great board to bring older computers up to some new spec hardware without having to buy all new parts. Loved having IDE and SATA controllers. Can make use of existing DDR2 ram.
  • Cons: My older MB was using 4 sticks of RAM. Two more slots would have made this board perfect.

Awesome

Bradley R., Newegg
6 September 2012
  • Pros: I bought this to replace a high end, dead EVGA board in an aging system, was able to upgrade later from a Athlon x2 6000+ for a Athlon II quad core and 4gb of ddr3. Has mostly worked wonderfully ever since.
  • Cons: Doesn't always post, pressing the reset button solves that. Might be a PSU issue but I dont know. Not a big deal. What was a big deal was that the DDR2 800 does not work. You have to get ddr2 667 or slower for this board to work. I didn't update the bios so maybe that was the issue either way had...

This board got me started on ASRock

Michael C., Newegg
2 August 2012
  • Summary: My first time trying ASRock since then have bought many. A friend of mine wanted a cheap computer, so I told him I would almost give hime the old dell xps. He didn't like the look can't blame him it was ugly so this was the solution.
  • Pros: 775, ddr2 good way to take an old ugly btx dell computer and fit it a new case. 2 years and counting.
  • Cons: Only two ram slots.
