Not XP friendly

Jacob H., Newegg
18 October 2012
  • Summary: 2 gigs of RAM and an old spare graphics card is perfect for my girlfriend listing items on the internet. For 50 dollars It's a good deal to getting an older non-working computer working again.
  • Pros: Can't beat the price.
  • Cons: Unless you already have all service packs on a disk or already downloaded somewhere the MB drivers get errors when installing a fresh copy of XP. I tried to source out all updates and got tired of jumping over hurdles with XP and installed Vista. No driver errors with Vista at all with this MB.

User Review

Michael A., Newegg
3 October 2012
  • Pros: Solid board. Easy setup. I have built two of these over the last three months
  • Cons: On completing the second board, I powered it up and let it run for half an hour using a live dvd. Shut down and rebooted. After fifteen minutes the screen displayed a yellow tint. Seems there was some oil or something in the onboard vga connector which cleaned out with some contact cleaner. If I ...

Running soild

Dean W., Newegg
6 August 2012
  • Summary: decent value, IF you have spare parts lying around.
  • Pros: Mine is working fine with a Pentium 4 (3.0Ghz) conroe. Great board to throw a bunch of old parts on and run linux. I have not tried this mobo with windows but everything was recognized by linux mint and "just worked".
  • Cons: I am using an older cool master cpu fan that is not properly controlled by the bios fan speed options. runs full power all the time without software controlling it in the OS (fanspeed). So during boot and shudown the fan just ROARS.

Decent Starter Board

James A., Newegg
21 February 2012
  • Pros: So far has been a great board for the price, one of the few motherboards left out there that supports Windows 2000. Needed that to replace a system that runs bowling lane software for AMF.
  • Cons: Built to have a parallel port, but does not include one. Has the pin header for the port so you have to purchase one like the one from cables-to-go. Very short factory warranty!!! Missed that when I purchased it, my fault since I assumed everyone had a basic year warranty minimum. So hope if you ...

  • Summary: On second thought, I want durabilaty which I can find from $100+ product on cheap board.
  • Pros: good feature for inexpensive board. easy to configure.
  • Cons: It dose not last long like intel board. I just replace the board on the comp I built for friend about 3 yrs ago.

Good board for the price.

kelly g., Newegg
18 January 2012
  • Summary: I bought this board because my old motherboard was pretty much trashed. I am a college student and needed my computer to be in working order. This board has done just that. I didn't even have to re-install windows when installing this board.
  • Pros: This board replaced an old ASUS P5N-E SLI board that died on me. I am running a Core 2 Quad Q6600, 4gigs of Corsair memory and a Geforce gt 320 and everything is running fine. This board is small enough that it leaves plenty of room to work inside of the tower. It would be a great board to build ...
  • Cons: The only reason I docked an egg is because the size of the board creates some hassle plugging in some of the power wires after the board is installed. I recommend plugging the CPU fan wire and the 4-pin supplemental power before installing the heatsink. Both of those power connectors are sitting ...

Plug and Play

Andrew M., Newegg
23 December 2011
  • Summary: $40, worked perfectly right out of the box, didn't even have to re-provision my HDD that was migrated over from my old rig...plugged everything and and booted right up to Window7 no configuring what so ever.
  • Pros: Cheap, functional and has minor overclocking abilities. have a Core 2 Duo E5300 @ 3.4ghz
  • Cons: Minor overclocking abilities, not really a con considering this is a budget board anyway. Strange how it allows for Voltage manipulation of the NB and memory, but no the CPU. As it stands right now i can't push the core any faster without more VCore.

very satisfied

David S., Newegg
18 December 2011
  • Pros: Purchased as replacement for dead MB. Price was good. Easy to install, Window 7 recognized different hardware made changes, just had to reinstall video & printer drivers. Newegg delivers as always.
  • Cons: If you have large video card (ATI HD6 series) covers up one of SATA connections, luckily had 90 degree cable available, which solved problem( One reduction for that)
