Summary: It just does not perform like a power user system should.
Pros: Good layout, everything fits very well as far as SATA ports and front USB 3.0. No conflicts with any of the hardware I used.
Cons: Well...the board needs better options for booting. The fast boot option is useless. Secure boot is somewhat of a joke, but I think we all know that. I honestly gutted my case and put all the components into my standby system which is AM3+, using the 990FXA-GD80. I'll use it for my son's new machine.
Summary: Good quality board. But there are some issues. The little tab that sticks out at the end of each PCI video card slot is useless. I had to break them off to allow for the Sapphire HD7850 to fit. The mic input is not so great. I cant get good sound to be reproduced. Sound output is really good though.
Pros: Pretty good board. 2400Mhz mem useage. Decent overclocks. But why? The APu processors suck! Even overclocking wont do anything for games!
Cons: It uses APU. This isnt so great cause I see no point using an APU when you have dual PCI slots for Dedicated cards. Even the best APU which is at this point the A10-5800K, will yield a super slow 1300 on the 3dmark11 benchmark. That isnt even comparible to a 3 year old Laptop! This cpu is NOT so ...
Summary: If I could get a board where the video ports work, then I'd up this to four stars (the heat sink issue was a bit too much for five). Great board, good price, willing to give the manufacturer the benefit of the doubt, for now.
Pros: * Love the massive options for overclocking. * Lots of SATA ports.
Cons: * The only display port that seems to work is the VGA; even went as far as to find an adapter for the DVI-D port, still no joy. Didn't find out until I'd had a DVI-D adapter shipped to me, so it's being exchanged. * One of the heat sinks got TOUCHED in installation, came loose.
Summary: Bugs, but ive encountered them on all Asrock boards, I do say, I may, possibly give asrock one more go, i do happen to have a Extreme3 970 laying around and it hasnt given me as much of hell as this board has given me.
Pros: Adjustable features Bells and whisteles with the bios Supports all of Asrocks features for the AMD side of things A85x Chipset
Cons: First things first and this seems to happen with every asrock motherboard ive encountered and thats the CPU heating up in the bios. Not a concerning thing to too much however, it would be if your trying to update a bios and it decides to shut off while that happens..seen it once.. Secondly and mo...
Summary: I bought this motherboard based on a review by "AMDForever" which was saying that it has a decent onboard sound with no background noise and to my great disappointment it does have annoying background noise. I've disabled all analog inputs, but the scrolling sound persists.
Pros: As other reviewers pointed out, combined with a good CPU this motherboard provides very good performance for the price. 7+1 sata ports
Cons: Bad onboard analog sound. I have blitter (squeaking noise) when scrolling through pages. Too "starry" of a bios, I'd prefer a more professional design.
Summary: Tested the board according to directions from ASROCK tech and it came back as kaput.
Pros: Slick board with all the previously stated benefits. Started out great but a month in the board started to act up and finally after a two week period of testing it was determiined the board had to go back.
Cons: Took quite awhile to figure out what the issue was. Retested memory, CPU, drivers, firmware and other things before settling in on MOBO as the issue. I hope the RMA is quick and I can get back to my daily grind.
Pros: I really want to like this board, so Ill give it 3
Cons: Two boards now with defective audio jacks. Now I need to buy a sound card. Also not really a problem but USB 3.0 on this board does not work with keyboard, mouse or iphone, only flash drives. Also after installing drivers I found malware on my system, pretty sure it came from Asrock disk - snap.do
