Very good board

Andrey B., Newegg
18 November 2013
  • Summary: If you get this board make sure to update bios I bought this board when it first came out and there have been few issue that were fixed with bios updates. Bottom line is, for the money you'll pay this board is excellent, sure bios may lack some options you find on Rampage IV but right now this board...
  • Pros: Lots of options, excellent pci-e slot configuration allows for plenty of space when running multiple graphics cards, ton of sata ports and usb ports plenty 3.0 ones too. Looks excellent as well, if you're going for black and red build its one of the best looking 2011 boards out there.
  • Cons: UEFI/Bios layout and options aren't the best and can be improved.

shawn j., Newegg
14 October 2012
  • Summary: The board works awesome once you trouble shoot all the problems but for sure get that updated software and windows updates in there for everything to work right
  • Pros: Awesome software lots of extras for gaming solid board easy hardware install the code reader works awesome helped with my trouble shooting.
  • Cons: This board does not work out of the box you need all updated drivers for 100% proper function and detection.Would not detect 16 gigs of G skill ram it didnt read any when I put all 4 sticks in had to put in one at a time played with that for a few days.In order to use all the pci slots for sound ...

A good choice

David V., Newegg
29 September 2012
  • Summary: My cons about the fit, are in large part a memory issue. I'm sure the engineers had good reason to put the memory slots on either side of the CPU. Well, one can hope it wasn't a marketing decision.
  • Pros: No problems. Everything worked. The graphic BIOS is a neat change. What would make it a significant, and impressive change would be if you select an item, and got an informative explanation as to what the setting controlled, did, meant, anything other than the meaningless repetition of the same t...
  • Cons: I bought a water cooling system for the first time. I have a huge Thermaltake Xaser VI case that I could fit my car into, so I was confident that unless I purchased something with a car sized radiator, I would be able to make it fit in the standard location. Guess again. Because the memory is on ...

A Fatal1ty product I actually want!

Sergio F., Newegg
7 August 2012
  • Summary: All-in-all it's a very nice board. especially for me since my last build was an AMD FX-60 DDR1 of yesteryear. HOWEVER, I got this board thinking that the 4 SATA3 ports, controlled by the Marvell controllers, was just 1 controller. BIG MISTAKE.
  • Pros: -PCI-E slots are in a very nice order which allows me to actually use the PCI-E 1x slot(sound card) and with enough space to have 2 video cards(with the exception of 3 slot cards but really, you know what you're getting into with those.) -although I don't normally overclock, there are plenty of o...
  • Cons: -NO RAID 5 ON SATA3 PORTS!!!!~(see other thoughts.) -Intel Rapid Storage drivers are a bit...flaky? took me a long time to realize the F6 drivers are picky about what OS disk you use, I had to buy a new copy of an OEM Windows just to get it to install to a RAID array. --there are also some occasi...

Received Used board, paid for new

Chad B., Newegg
20 June 2012
  • Summary: Really hope the start up issue is not a problem defect on its way to becoming a dead board. I dread having to deal with NewEgg after my last experience and really tired of manufacturers using the RMA process instead of good quality control.
  • Pros: Board almost perfect in functionality. Two issues physicly or operationaly with the board noted thus far. 1) Strange power surge when board is powered on. Seems as if board is pulling an unusual amount of current when initialy powered on. (Using Corsair AX1200 PSU) I have over 7 other boards and ...
  • Cons: Board arrived in used condition even though purchased as new. (This is not the first I have heard of this occurring of late) There was evidence of thermal compound on the CPU armature and finger prints all over indicating it was handled and used previously. (Just wait, NewEgg will say thats BC th...

Overall good mobo

Jason R., Newegg
13 April 2012
  • Summary: Personally woud've gotten the ASRock X79 Extreme 6 that is very similar for $30 less but my NVIDIA 560 Ti wouldve covered the only PCIex1 slot. I like the color scheme on this one better anyhow. I had an issue with my RAM which 2 DIMMs were not being seen.
  • Pros: BIOS is much better than the traditional, keystroke only, blue screen BIOS. I like the color scheme. Many SATA 6gb/s ports and USB 3.0 ports. Extra USB 3.0 panel is useful. Price is cheaper than similar SATAIII/USB3.0 boards and have better overall ratings.
  • Cons: The manual is average but does not specify the exact loation of SATA ports, only general location. Also, web tech support never got back to my non-critical question which was submitted a week ago. Lastly I don't really like the ASRock software, preferred the ASUS software I had on my old mobo. Al...

So far...So goodd

Brent W., Newegg
7 April 2012
  • Summary: Dont type reviews on your color nook.
  • Pros: Beatiful board Good layout Stable as a rock right now Nice packaging with all the sli cconnectors you need This build is for my son who is with the 2-38th CAV serving in a particularly hostile area in the Khandahar province. He comes home in late May. This is his oming home gift Intel 3930 Intel ...
  • Cons: Pathetic manual cost it 1 egg. Usb 3.0 mounting bracket useless unless you have a 3.5" bay. Fortunately they provide a rear mounting bracket.

I am impressed.

John C., Newegg
4 April 2012
  • Summary: For the money, this is a super board. My first ASROCK motherboard, and it won't be my last. The construction is heavy duty; nothing flimsy about this board. Installation went smoothly, and everything appears to be working as it should, and very smoothly at that (no glitches, boot issues, etc.).
  • Pros: Intuitive and easy to use BIOS. No stability issues. No installation issues. Easy to overclock. Great software. XMP works flawlessly with 2400 memory. Overclock to 5.0GHz thru the BIOS easily done. Installation disk better than most.
  • Cons: If you use 4 graphics cards, the DR Debug LED's are covered by the 4th graphics card. I have concerns the chipset heatsink may be inadequate, but temps are OK so far. Like Sapphire, you have to go thru the vendor for warranty service (in this case Newegg) even after 30 days.
