Summary: I bought this board along with an FX-8350 and have it overclocked to 4.5ghz at 1.375vcore. I have gotten it stable up to 5ghz and run a lower 24/7 overclock. I really enjoy the look of this board, and it has extensive features. I would highly recommend this board to anyone looking for a quality board for an FX series cpu and for someone who wants to overclcock as well. This board has 12+2 power phases as well.
Summary: The first thing I noticed when shopping for a high-end enthusiast motherboard is the amount of "bling" these type motherboards have, including this one. Besides the elaborately designed heat sinks, the capacitors are encased in gold. It even has a celebrity endorsement who goes by the name of "Fatal1ty" Do I know who he is? No, I do not. But the manual has a section informing me why his likeness is printed on the box. Gold Capacitors... Approved by Fatal1ty...
Summary: Pros: 1. The board came packed in a really cool box 2. Board has a great range of accessible IO ports even with Crossfire or SLI which is a big plus for me with multiple add on cards both PCI and PCI-E x1 3. Dual front USB 3.0 Headers 4. Full 9.6 in length (I like the support added to the power plug and such) 5. Lots of Fan Ports 6. Rear IO panel has tons of USB ports and the CLR CMOS button is also a nice pro 7.
Summary: I configured this motherboard with an FX8150 as the basis for a complete new computer build. It is fantastic! I chose the AS Rock because of the extensive features, expandability and state-of-the-art software. I compared it to all of the other FX motherboards available at the time from Amazon and this one was the value leader. If you look at the total package as opposed to individual performance spikes, this one is the all-around leader.
Summary: So for the past 2 weeks I've been trying to replace my dead board on my PC. Went from a year old ASUS 87TD EVO USB3 to a 990FX Gigabyte UD5 which had a faulty PCI-E slot (amazon kindly took it back for a refund although it took me days to figure out which slot was faulty... 'there's 3 on the board'). And I finally decided to test my luck and go with ASrock which I had heard good things from, but never tried before.
Summary: As a genuine enthusiast I have had my fair share of high end motherboards, none as fully featured as the 990fx professional by Asrock. It comes with all the extras you expect plus the addition of the front USB and 3.5mm stereo cable are nice touches. I have managed to clock my PhenomII 950 BE to over 4.3GHz with absolute ease, I could probably go higher on this board, but my cooling solution is not quite up to the task. (not to mention my power bill).
