Cons: I've had problems with it ever since I got it back in January. At first it ran great for like the first month but then I had to reformat my computer and now it won't run in dual channel memory for some reason. This has been going on since February. I've tried everything including buying new ram s...
Summary: I'm sure I'm one of the few to receive a bad board but, I will be certain to steer clear of this brand in the future.
Pros: Almost everything worked perfectly. The APU is a genius idea and the board worked perfectly with this fairly new design.
Cons: USB's did not function properly from the beginning. Only 2 of them work fine. had a somewhat hard time getting the drivers to update them and when I did I got 2 more of them to work then, shortly after they quit working again. so only 2 work properly now.
Summary: you got one that worked first go, then consider yourself very fortunate. I like Asrock, and have one of their 890 full size boards with a 1090 in my tower, zero issues, and literally solid as a rock (no pun intended).
Pros: Has every feature I wanted, and a great price point.
Cons: I read the reviews, and knew the danger. Had a discreet vid card on hand for the build, knowing that it defaults to offboard graphics. First boot, got post, no display. Swapped out the vid card for an ancient (like 12 yr old card) and finally got display, but modern sapphire card wouldn't pick up...
Summary: Will not be happy paying 1/4 total cost of board to ship new bios chip, if that's what it takes.
Pros: Cheap, full featured, well laid out.
Cons: Also having speaker noise issues, as well as problems with 'sleep'. Tried updating to 1.60 bios (board shipped with 1.20) and now no display, similar to problems described by other users below. Tried CMOS reset, external video card, still no joy. Will likely rma board or try to get new bios chip.
Summary: I guess you pay for quality, and when you don't you suffer. After I RMA this board, again, I'm definitely going stay away. This is the first time I tried buying a budget board like this, and its going to be the last.
Pros: -Cheap (its the reason I chose this board, probably same with most people) -It had the features I wanted/needed 2 memory slots, 1 pcie 2.0 slot, 6 sata slots, supports raid 0 -UEFI bios, FM1 socket
Cons: This is my second board. -My first board setup and ran well for a week. Then my computer started to lag and get glitchy. The sound with play harsh static on 2 speakers and my headphones and earplugs. Whatever, so I RMA'd the board thinking it was just that 1, an anomaly. The second board I receiv...
Summary: Will not install Windows 7 with dvd I burned from img file downloaded from Microsoft (code 5; means it does not recognize dvd as bootable); although main computer and 2 other laptops run the dvd as startup with no problems.
Summary: I am returning this and buying something else. This will be my first and last ASRock.
Pros: It works, well sort of...
Cons: The I/O shield doesn't even line up with the board properly. I double checked my stand offs on the case and it still doesn't even line up. The USB ports short on the grounds of the I/O shield and I cannot even get the ports in without breaking the ground tabs. This is not a problem with my case b...
