MBReview
9 April 2009
  • Conclusion: When the time came for the KV8-MAX3 to face a round of MBReview punishment, ABIT’s motherboard was completely solid and ran flawlessly during operation. This was of course after we got past the siren sound that was giving us some trouble when we went to flip the power switch on for the first time, so we took off a point here because of it.

Extreme Overclocking
5 March 2004
  • Conclusion: Though the ABIT KV8-MAX3 may appeal to all types of users, the high end enthusiasts are the one who will really reap the benefits of purchasing this mainboard. Features such as OTES, high overclocking capabilities and options, Gigabit Ethernet, and Serial ATA, are not exactly going to appeal as much to users using a 56K modem, PATA, and run at stock speeds.

Abit's KV8-MAX3 motherboard

techreport.com
8 January 2004
  • Summary: Though there are a couple scratches on the KV8-MAX3's shiny surface, they're few and far between. The board could use some AGP and PCI bus dividers and a couple more USB ports, and Abit should really throw in a CPU retention bracket, but other than that there's not much to gripe about. There are, however, plenty of reasons to heap praise on Abit for what they've done with the KV8-MAX3. For starters, all praise the SoftMenu.

Abit KV8-MAX3 K8T800 Motherboard Review

PC Perspective
5 December 2003
  • Excerpt: A few years ago, with the collapse of the VIA/Intel relationship and the lack luster chipsets from VIA for the Athlon XP platform, Abit’s dominance in the market declined as more and more motherboard manufacturer’s recognized the potential for the enthusiast segment. Until the release of their MAX series of motherboards, which we first touched on in our KT400 roundup back in November of last year, Abit’s product line was looking just like everyone else’s.

Abit KV8-MAX3 (VIA K8T800) Motherboard

Digital-Daily

For this money, the user gets a well-equipped high-end motherboard with a number of proprietary technologies and utilities. Also note the wide expansion options and a rich set of overclocking tools. Of special note is the presence of the OTES system that provides for a forced cooling of the power supply module that improves the operational stability.
  • Pros: Good performance level;, Support for SerialATA (2 channels; RAID);, Additional 4-channel SerialATA/RAID controller;, Integrated 6.1 audio and high-speed LAN (Gigabit Ethernet) controller;, Support for USB2.0 (8 ports) and IEEE-1394 (Firewire, 3 ports);, Relatively low price;, Support for the Cool'n'Quiet;, A rich set of Abit's proprietary utilities (FlashMenu, EQ etc.);, Rich package bundle and excellent exterior.

ABIT KV8-MAX3 i AOpen AK86-L Athlon 64 ploče

PC Ekspert
10 March 2014
  • Conclusion: Dolaskom ABIT KV8-MAX3 ploče situacija se s Athlon 64 pločama osjetno popravila. Ova ploča, zajedno s ASUS K8V Deluxe, zaslužuje sve preporuke s tim da je ABIT ploča još bolja nego ASUS. ABIT KV8-MAX3 je brza ploča koja je ujedno i fantastičan overclocker . Uz to dolazi dobro opremljena i s OK bundleom . Jedina mana ove ploče je layout koji bi mogao biti bolji. Ustvari, postoji i druga mana – VIA chipset no to je "viša sila".
  • Pros: Odličan izgled. Dobra opremljenost i solidan bundle. OTES i µGuru. Trouble free. Vrlo stabilna ploča vrlo dobrih performansi. Sve potrebno za overclocking s odličnim izborom voltaža. Fantastičan overclocker.
  • Cons: Loš layout. VIA K8T800 chipset (nema AGP/PCI lock).
