Conclusion: The current lousy value of the Australian dollar means that local video
card prices are likely, in the short term, to stay steady or maybe even
go up a little, so if you're shopping for a video card at the moment, you
might as well buy now. If you can find the Siluro MX at a decent price,
buy it. An amazing, revolutionary super-card it is not, but it's as good
as any other MX card. And MX cards are great.
Conclusion: We really like the GeForce2 MX for its outstanding combination of price and performance. In fact, we can see this chip running comfortably all the way through the first half of next year. With GeForce2 GTS boards retailing for $300 and the GeForce2 Ultra at $500, we're glad to see NVIDIA hasn't forgotten the low end of the market. We clearly see the GeForce2 MX breaking new ground in the OEM sector.
