Summary: 4 more ASUS boards since and soon an MSI mATX. Hope they last as long!
Pros: This board continues to run with Win7. Replaced NB fan and have an X1950 GPU. It is now an kids gaming system playing classics like Oblivion, Sims and GP2. May never die, but will try the Win10 free update for fun...divers may not work for the Audigy2 and I have already had a problem with Logitec...
Summary: This was one hell of a motherboard. This was the absolute best motherboard I've ever owned. I built it in the 8th grade, that was back in 2003. Thing last from 2003-2015. One of the chips started smoking one day. It's too bad they shut down. Their products were absolutely of phenomenal QUALITY.
Pros: Everything about it was fantastic
Cons: The Chip set fan would seize up from wear after 1 year. I've replaced that same fan several times.
Summary: I'm going to mount the motherboard in a frame and hang it up! It deserves as much for how well it did my family for 12 years. Thank you!
Pros: This board, it was absolutely the best board I've ever known. I built this in 2002 when we heard we were going to have our first child. I built it figuring I would now be a home body with my child. It's 2014 and I just powered it down tonight and disassembled it. I almost shed a tear for what I w...
Cons: Computers that get outdated and become useless. Abit went away and what was once the leader of enthusiast motherboards doesn't exist.
Summary: I REALLY wish Abit had stuck around, but since it isn't here anymore the best stuff in my opinion is ASUS followed by eVGA.
Pros: I bought the IC7-G and it caught fire. I replaced it with a Max3 and strangely they put a cooling fan and ducting over the very spot my IC7-G caught fire! It was a great fix to cure an issue with a great board and all you lost was an outdated printer port. This thing has been up and running since...
Cons: It's 478, it's old, it can't handle games like Crysis without OC'ing it into a fire ball!
Summary: I realize there is no use for this review since these are no longer for sale, but I thought I'd just write this so that someone that lands on this page can see what some of the old Abit motherboards were capable of. This was the Prime age of Abit. And the best motherboard they ever made.
Pros: have had a 2.4 chip running at 3.4 on this computer for 6 years. 2 years ago, I upgraded the 2.4 to a 3.4E and have it running at 4.0. Still ticking. This is the most stable motherboard I have ever used in all my life.
Summary: Purchased 5.21.03. Has been used daily since, ever as a server for about 6 months being on 24/7. Nearly 8 years, 3 cases, 2 CPU's, 4 video cards, and 2 sound cards later it's finally dead. The CORSAIR memory I originally bought with it and the Antec True 550 still work.
Pros: Best board I've ever owned. Was on the top of the game when it came out and for the years to follow. Made a nice gaming PC back in the day.
Summary: Storm came threw and ended its years, sadly enough, was about time for an upgrade anyways.
Pros: Well, this motherboard lasted me a few years, back when it was almost brand new I had my "Phat" 2.4 ghz p4, and this mobo overlocked them like beauties, as far as 3.8 Ghz. Had no driver issues with SATA/IDE HD's, dvd writers, dual channel ram, etc.
