  • Excerpt: Lets get one thing out in the open from the beginning the Abit BP6 is one of the most exiting and important mainboard releases ever. Why? Lets have a look at a little history... When Intel released the original cacheless Celeron it was targeted fairly and squarely at the low end.

  • Excerpt: The Abit Bp6 was the board i wanted from the start of my computing life back in the days when i had a cyrix P200+ on a socket 7 board so a Duel Socket 370 was quite good.I went to a computer fair to buy a Bp6 but i was £20 short and the stall owner woundnt be prepaired to haggle.

  • Excerpt: The ABIT BP6 board supports dual CPUs, stacks of memory and UDMA 66. I am running a dual celeron 400Mhz solution at the moment, with 128 mb ram. The system I built myself because at the time the price of Pentium III cpus was outside my budget.
  • Pros: Fast, Cheap, expandable
  • Cons: None

  • Excerpt: The abit BP6 is overclockers and computer tweakers paradise. Not only can you have 2 Socket 370 chips on one board (against Intels rules) but you have loads of overclocking facilities too.
  • Pros: Lots of upgradability and CHEAP !
  • Cons: No flip - chip(newest CPUs)

  • Pros: Prix
  • Cons: Socket PPGA
