A Living Hell. Never Again Westinghouse!

tierny, Amazon
17 November 2012
  • Summary: If Satan and the Marquis de Sade ever teamed up and went into the hardware business, this is the monitor they would make. In this case, Satan is Microsoft (the kings of mediocrity) and deSade is Westinghouse. Together they teamed up to bring you this huge interface fail. The item has just one, big (major) problem. It is impossible to turn on. This is because 10 or 12 years ago some jackass invented the 'soft' power button.

Excellent product for the price

ER, Amazon
6 August 2012
  • Summary: This monitor has lasted me over 66+ months, it is nearly mint because I have taken such great care of it. Would buy another Westinghouse monitor if this one ever wants to give up. The color is great and sharpness is stellar.

There is a way to fix this moniter!

akakizzy "akakizzy", Amazon
24 December 2010
  • Summary: My husband bought out moniter after Christmas in 2008. For the past several months it too has been taking forever to turn on. I did have problems with it randomly shutting off, but fixed that by telling my computer to never put it into sleep or standby. I researched if this was a common probem and lo and behold it is. I was able to find a fix for it, 8 of the capitors need to be replaced. I found this on a repair website.

great Monitor

S. Wolf "JDBurton", Amazon
5 April 2010
  • Summary: This is a great monitor. I got it about 4 years ago and it still works like new. Very wide. Nice 1680 X 1050 display. The screen gets dirty (like every monitor) so I clean it every 6 months. Not the cheesy monitor I thought it could be, much nicer and long lasting.

Never again

verbaud "mick", Amazon
16 January 2010
  • Summary: For the price, it couldn't be beat. BUT, in a few months, it started turning off. Turn it back on, and it blinked off. Next day worked fine, then started all over again. I checked all my settings and connections on my desktop. Wrote and called and emailed about this. The Dell people said it was the monitor, the Westinghouse people said it was the Dell. This is a never again review. A monitor should just WORK, regardless of the price!

My monitor is already going

Becky M, Amazon
2 January 2010
  • Summary: Less than a year after buying this monitor, it's already dying. Takes forever now to get it to turn on. I expect it to completely stop working soon. I have to keep pressing the power button on and off for about 20 minutes for it to finally stay on.

A Good, But Not Great Monitor

S. Brosseau "Video Game Historian", Amazon
17 December 2009
  • Summary: It's easy to set up and it takes up minimal space for it's size. It has a pretty quick response time so playing games on it is no issue. The color is good even with DVD's. Those who complained must have done something wrong, or used a bad cable or something. Text is a bit fuzzy on non native resolutions and using a standard cable, but looks clear using the native 1680x1050 resolution with a HDMI cable.

VERY VERY short life

B. Campbell "Auntie Bren", Amazon
5 November 2009
  • Summary: I loved this monitor when I purchased it. However it died at 18 months and there was absolutely nothing to do but buy a new monitor. Basically spending $150 every year and a half for a monitor is ridiculous. I will not be purchasing any Westinghouse products again. It's true you get what you pay for. Don't save yourself money now - you'll just have to shell out more later.

Short Life

Jason Knorpp, Amazon
4 November 2009
  • Summary: I purchased 2 of these monitors 23 months ago. Both monitors died within 3 weeks of eachother. That is a short life in my opinion. Won't purchase Westinghouse again.
