Summary: * * * UPDATE * * * Sent the monitor back to Westinghouse, support was friendly and helpful and paid all of the expenses to have the monitor repaired. The refurb that was sent to replace the original monitor works much better. It's still not a "fantastic" monitor by any stretch of the imagination, but for browsing the web, working with documents and other general uses it's definitely on par with other monitors in this price range.
Summary: I bought a Westinghouse L2610NW 16" LCD 1080p monitor. It worked beautifully for about 20 minutes. Then it fried - screen flickered a few times and went black, then blinked multicolored vertical lines. I returned it and got another one of the same model. It worked just fine until I adjusted the brightness down from the factory default 100 to about 75, when it started making buzzing/ringing moises inside the monitor.
