Cons: it blew up twice First time it was under warranty so I RMA'd it. New monitor had same issue. Smoke came out and you could smell a burning plastic. Would not power back on. Out of warranty so can't be replaced again.
Summary: This monitor was a replacement for my VX924 which exhibited the same behavior with the power cycling on and off, but only after the monitor had been turned off for a bit. I had the VX924 for only a year when the above started to happen.
Pros: Was good for a month, until it blew up on me out of the blue.
Cons: Died in a month. While playing Quake 4 the power suddenly started cycle on and off until it fried and smoke came out of the top of it with a nasty electric smell (this was after I had shut down the PC as well). This is the first time I've actually had any sort of computer equipment fry on me. Sin...
Summary: I purchased one of these from a local retail store and found it to have the above described symptoms. Went back for an exchange only to get the exact same symptoms. I can only recommend this monitor if you enjoy hitting the "factory reset" button every time you finish playing a full-sized game,...
Pros: No dead pixels; it turned on.
Cons: I purchased two of these monitors, and both of them came with the exact same symptoms so the following applies to both monitors I purchased: The left side of the screen had a sepia colored tint to it, while the right side was normal. Text was terrible and hard to read as it was quite distorted an...
Summary: I purchased this monitor for home because I wanted to use it for gaming and it works well for that purpose. I do think that there are some terrible trade offs here, in that the monitor has horrible viewing angles.
Summary: I bought this item on December 18th 2005. About one week ago (1/13/07) the monitor simply blacked out. It ran for one day of flickering madness and finally made a sound that only a welding torch should before expiring completely. While it worked the monitor was amazing.
Summary: I purchased two of these VX922 monitors and in less than two years, both of them failed. Black screen. The first one drove me nuts because sometimes it would come on and sometimes it wouldn't. It did that for a few months before finally failing. The second monitor just stopped working one day.
Summary: Don't buy this monitor - it will work great while under guarantee - but give in about 5 months after the warranty finishes and it breaks. This is the second monitor I have had that is viewsonic and I will not be buying one again.
Summary: As the other reviewer stated, its a shame that the customer service on this monitor is so very poor as my monitor was great whilst it was working. Rude call centre staff, never return calls, my replacement had dead pixels. Take my advice and use a different manufacturer at this price bracket.
