Summary: I purchased two of these VX922 monitors and in less than two years, both of them failed. Black screen. The first one drove me nuts because sometimes it would come on and sometimes it wouldn't. It did that for a few months before finally failing. The second monitor just stopped working one day. There is a class action lawsuit against ViewSonic for their grossly deficient quality. I recommend that no one purchase any products from ViewSonic.
Summary: I bought this item on December 18th 2005. About one week ago (1/13/07) the monitor simply blacked out. It ran for one day of flickering madness and finally made a sound that only a welding torch should before expiring completely. While it worked the monitor was amazing. 2ms response time in video games eliminated all ghosting in even the most graphic and motion intensive First Person Shooters like Half-Life 2 and FarCry- it even ran Elder Scrolls: Oblivion like a charm.
Summary: I purchased this monitor for home because I wanted to use it for gaming and it works well for that purpose. I do think that there are some terrible trade offs here, in that the monitor has horrible viewing angles. If your eyes stray away from looking head in into the monitor then you are going to see a lot of white fading into brightness. If that doesn't bother you, then this is a good monitor with nice color and fair contrast.
Summary: Don't buy this monitor - it will work great while under guarantee - but give in about 5 months after the warranty finishes and it breaks. This is the second monitor I have had that is viewsonic and I will not be buying one again. Summary: As the other reviewer stated, its a shame that the customer service on this monitor is so very poor as my monitor was great whilst it was working. Rude call centre staff, never return calls, my replacement had dead pixels. Take my advice and use a different manufacturer at this price bracket.
Summary: If you are buying the ViewSonic for the supposedly excellent warranty (as I did), then beware. This model is considered a "consumer unit, and will get 2nd class support. My experience of the Viewsonic warranty has been very bad...foreign call centres, never replying to e-mails, bad attitude towards customers etc. etc. Shame, because the monitor was great...while it was working!
Summary: Snabb skärm men kvaliteten i övrigt är rent ut sagt usel. Det som drar ned betyget i stort är dock Viewsonics oprofessionella kundtjänst som inte överhuuvdtaget kommunicerar med varandra, säger olika saker och lovar utbyteskärmar (som ej finns i lager...) tills dess att det drar ut så mycket på tiden att man inte orkar. Nämnde jag att de svär åt en i telefonen också? Makalöst. Deras DOA-service verkar bra i teorin och mycket rikgit så får man en ny skärm första gången.
